Life’s Colours

Sometimes the world seems only blue, and sometimes it seems green,
Sometimes it’s red, sometimes gold, and all the colours between.
Yellow is my happy place, my calm is pale green,
Blue is sadness, red annoyed, and I avoid the black being seen.
But my heart now knows all the colours, a rainbow shining bright,
With hope, peace, love and happiness, the world’s a beautiful sight.

Whole Again

You broke my love, my loyalty, my confidence and mind,
You left invisible wounds, broken, trauma and anxiety,
You told me I was imagining all the things you did, that it was my fault, I was to blame.
You ignored me when I cried myself to sleep, when you saw me becoming ill,
Withdrawn, silent, tense, unhappy,
Hitting rock bottom with only one way to go.

But then I found my strength, and painful step by painful step,
Managed to break free, undoing all that linked us together,
Then slowly rebuilding all that had been lost in the years of abuse,
Until whole once again and free to fly, love and live with happiness and peace, long awaited.

Family

Family means everything, there's someone there for you,
To share in what you're doing and the good and bad times too,
Family looks different to each and every one, Small or large, traditiona, blended, the love can't be undone.
Family means feeling at home, wherever you all should go,
It's unconditional love that doesn't need voicing to know.
Family is you and I, parents, siblings and children,
A bond that gets stronger day by day, with affection and happiness often.

Intimacy is

Intimacy is..........
Knowing how they feel without having to explain,
Being able to show your best and worst sides without fear,
Knowing how they drink their coffee,
Saying good morning and goodnight wherever you are, Knowing how and when they like to be touched and kissed, Wearing his + shirt just because it makes you feel wrapped in his arms,
Wanting the best for each other and working together to make life better,
Curling up together in bed and dozing off wrapped in each others arms,
Holding hands and watching the stars in the nights sky,

Intimacy is...........
Trusting each other without hesitation and always being truthful, Hard conversations without fear, and anger without harsh unkind words,
Thoughtful words and meaningful gestures, Making an effort with family and friends,
Being with each other feels like home, whatever you are doing, Feeling totally comfortable and un self-conscious,
Eye contact that sees into each others soul and connection like no other,
Songs with special meanings to you both and singing along loudly in the car,
Shared hopes, dreams and future plans,

Intimacy is........
Me and You always and Forever

Missing from me

I don’t just miss you, you are missing from me,
Like a tree without branches and a fire without a flame,
A day with no night and a child without a name.
Like a sky without stars, the land without sea,
Thunder without lightening and you without me.
I don’t just miss you, you are missing from me.

Back to you

We met in school when we were young,
In crowded halls with chattering tongues.
A fleeting smile, a silent hush,
You were my sweet unspoken crush.
We passed like shadows, shy and fast,
Two hearts not knowing love would last.
The years moved on, we drifted far,
Each lost beneath a different star.
We thought of each other, a long lost chance,
Till fate stepped in and took a stance.
A message and chat turned to meeting, a must,
And the Lonely years, drifted like dust.
Each word was warm, each kiss was new,
But deep inside we always knew.
We spoke of trust, of lessons earned,
And love we thought was lost, returned.
Now soulmates, not just youthful dreams,
Destined to be one, for always it seems,
From twilight through the morning light,
Together is the home that feels just right.

When I am not with you

When I am not with you, close your eyes and see me, for lam there with you always.

I am there in your heartbeat, in the warmth of blood rushing through your veins, In your memories old and new, In your soul l am entwined and l'm your forever home.

Listen for my voice in the still of the night, l'll whisper in your ear and be there to hold you tight.

Everything about me is yours to hold, to keep, my memories and my life, my heart and love so deep.
From this life to the next, I am always there with you Two hearts became one and we live inside each other for always.

The dark place

There’s a dark place where I used to live that sucked me in down deep.
The walls were huge, imprisoning and slippery and steep.
Anxiety, depression, panic attacks just grew and grew and grew,
until I felt so ill I couldn’t cope anymore with what to do.
My mind grew foggy, and illnesses came to me more and more.
I felt I was going crazy immobilised to my core,
Then slowly the dark place lightened as I climbed out bit by bit,
painful, steep and torturous I was supported out that pit
I’ve now escaped that awful place that used to be my home
but every now and then I hate back there my mind will roam.
And triggers from that dark time make me anxious worried teary, immobilised and scared, my body and mind so weary.
There’s a dark place where I used to live that sucked me in down deep,
but despite the odd visit back there I’m out, loved and not needing to weep.

This life is my own

This life is my own to live as I choose,
There’s no second chances, no time to lose.
When I get to the end I want zero regrets,
Of wasted time and worry, and debts.
So I’ll live every day with joy in my heart,
With love in my life, till it’s time to depart.
My life is my own to live as I choose,
Because nobody else can walk in my shoes.

Sadness

Sadness comes without warning,
It creeps in through the door,
When I least expect it,
It pierces right to my core.
The world around me quickly turns,
That dreaded shade of blue,
And sometimes nothing helps,
There’s simply zero I can do.

It often comes and catches me,
When I’m left alone,
When the children have gone off from me,
To their other home,
Or when my love is missing from me,
Far away for weeks,
And then I cannot help it,
But my eyes begin to leak.

But every time now, slowly,
That blue then fades away,
And better times are coming,
Almost every single day.
Sadness comes without warning,
It creeps in through the door,
But happiness is overcoming it,
More and more and more.
