Sadness
Sadness comes without warning,
It creeps in through the door,
When I least expect it,
It pierces right to my core.
The world around me quickly turns,
That dreaded shade of blue,
And sometimes nothing helps,
There’s simply zero I can do.
It often comes and catches me,
When I’m left alone,
When the children have gone off from me,
To their other home,
Or when my love is missing from me,
Far away for weeks,
And then I cannot help it,
But my eyes begin to leak.
But every time now, slowly,
That blue then fades away,
And better times are coming,
Almost every single day.
Sadness comes without warning,
It creeps in through the door,
But happiness is overcoming it,
More and more and more.
