The Nigerian Super Eagles

In the land of Nigeria, strong and bold,
Super Eagles soar, stories to be told.
To the final they’ve flown, no easy feat,
God’s grace and hard work, a victorious beat.

Nwabali guards, a goalkeeping gem,
Protection’s force, a powerful emblem.
Ekong, a titan, no one dares defy,
In the field, his strength reaches the sky.

As the final whistle nears, in the game,
Remember, you’ve won hearts, fame not just a name.
Winners set examples, be a beacon bright,
In victory or defeat, carry the light.

So, on this pitch, dance with skill and grace,
Nigeria’s cheers echo in every embrace.
A funny twist to the serious art,
Go, Super Eagles, play with a joyful heart!

in the End

In the final act, alone you stand,
It's just you, amid the shifting sand.
Regrets, like echoes, in silence collect,
From things ejected, and paths unchecked.

Pain, an arrow, lodged deep within,
A heart's burden, a relentless sin.
The way you view, the way you dispense,
In the end, it's just you, the consequence.

Reflections cast shadows, truth unfurls,
In the kaleidoscope of life's swirling twirls.
Treat others kindly, let compassion blend,
For in the end, it's just you, my dear friend.

Discover the essence, in the quiet repose,
Before all else, in your own heart it shows.
A revelation profound, as time does dispel,
In the end, it's just you, all else farewell.

My Hijab

As-salamu alaykum, I embrace the Hijab,
A source of comfort, a symbol of my identity.
Worn with faith, a connection to Allah,
His promise echoes: “Remember Me, and I will remember you.”

In serving Allah, I find happiness,
For obedience brings divine reward.
Amidst the whispers of others, questioning,
“Do you not feel the heat? Are you not in pain?”

Yet, a smile emanates from my heart,
A reminder of Allah’s pledged recompense.
I proudly serve, for what else am I here for,
If not to honor and obey the Creator?

To those who don’t wear the Hijab,
Why hide your identity, the essence of Islam?
Be proud, for in your pride, you honor your faith,
Let not the judgments of others weigh you down.

Sisters, stand tall, for if not for you,
Then for whom is this journey of faith?
In the tapestry of belief, let your Hijab shine,
A reflection of your commitment, a testament of divine design.

Unexpressed Thoughts

I want to write ...
A feeling from inside,
Putting out the emotion felt.
The pains endured,
The feelings of being alone keeps me inside,
The emotion of belonging elsewhere drives me outside,
One can think about many things at a moment,
While what matters most might not be thought about.
They always say there is always a light at the end of the tunnel,
Have i reached the end of my tunnel?
Or is it just my imagination?
This is the question I ask myself every morning.
Seeing the sunrise gives me the hope,
That one day I will rise.
Seeing the sunset gives me advice that
While you rise, you might fall back.
Seeing the moon out tells me
That everyone has their own time.
Is it your time yet?
Time will be the judge.

ALONE

With unexpressed thoughts, like a river they flow,
Words coursing through me, in a rhythm’s sweet glow,
Leaving me in deep thought, contemplative and still,
Yet I strive to overcome them, with a determined will.

Society teaches strength, to bear burdens with grace,
To hold tomorrow’s secrets, no matter the space,
For some, life’s an easy sail, they cannot share,
But for others, it’s a tempest, a pain they must bear.

In solitude’s gentle embrace, my heart finds its home,
Alone, yet not lonely, in my soul, I’ve grown,
With unspoken words and thoughts untold,
In the quiet of my being, my spirit takes hold.
