ALONE

With unexpressed thoughts, like a river they flow, Words coursing through me, in a rhythm’s sweet glow, Leaving me in deep thought, contemplative and still, Yet I strive to overcome them, with a determined will. Society teaches strength, to bear burdens with grace, To hold tomorrow’s secrets, no matter the space, For some, life’s an easy sail, they cannot share, But for others, it’s a tempest, a pain they must bear. In solitude’s gentle embrace, my heart finds its home, Alone, yet not lonely, in my soul, I’ve grown, With unspoken words and thoughts untold, In the quiet of my being, my spirit takes hold.
