Ines Kuhn Poem
Full to the brim with hope
My heart
Fluttering like a little bird's
Ready for new endeavors
My mind
Cautions with earlier experience
There is no standing still
My soul
Reveals the inmost truth of life
Their voices swirling in me
Very unsettled
I inspect all the implications
Steadily placing my feet
With love
My eyes draw towards the distance
Taking in the cool air
I know
The future lies ahead of me
Full to the brim with hope
My heart
Flutters like a little bird's

now my wings loose their feathers
morning dew will mend

Ines Kuhn Poem
I am wondering
How this easy severance
Of two parts that have grown together
Came about
Years of accomplishments
Halted by one quick cut
Like it is nothing
And all could be regained in a moment
We walk off with ease
No conscience weighed
Picking flowers off the side of the road
Calling them trees
Is it
That the good love
So comes with ease and lightness
Envelopes us with great care
And carries us forward unbeknownst to ourselves?
Simply we embraced each other
And our lives swept to new shores
Filling our hearts
Presuming it was always meant to be
Is it
That the good love
Deceives us in that
So we believe we can start over
With the same effortlessness?
We defy the labor of love
The tender growth of life
The miracle of the reciprocal spark
That is necessary to create
Is it
That the good love
Lets us walk away foolishly
Into vast fields of destruction
Holding on to our vanity
That tomorrow will offer it all up again?
What was easily gained
Is lost easily
But the song we dance to
Changes its tune forever

Ines Kuhn Poem
SOME DAYS
like a little stream
life flows softly and with ease
all dancing eddies
OTHER DAYS
into opaque mud
boulders press with sharp edges
only breathe through crevice

Ines Kuhn Poem
Suddenly I see
that the basement is flooded
up to my knees
rendering me helpless
wondering how to scoop it out
with just this small cup in my hands
And how could I have
not known this or forgotten
water sloshing
dark in ominous circles
being cold and somehow foreign –
while every drop I know by name
And for a moment
with this small cup in my hands
I stand puzzled
while awareness slips away
just like water slipping through cracks
caused by my ambiguity
And again I go
through all the daily motions
with no idea
what's lapping at my knees
and don't hear the cool shivers crackle
In the hours of my ignorance

how can she speak up
without breaking the format
confined by learned rules

Ines Kuhn Poem
The old famous mathematician (Paul Erdös)
Love for an old man that I don't even know
because he has embraced his gift
a big arch
his life
there in between
I am sure
was sadness, loneliness, hardship
but he kept his course
the internal compass never deceived
suspended in the air
striving for development
choosing the flight
knowing that we only can touch down
for a moment
but need to keep moving
to fulfill the potential
to connect the dots
to make visible
the fabric of life

Ines Kuhn Poem
By and by I will find
That I can let go and forget
That person's meaning
Then I will wonder
What kept my heart clutched
and my soul scheming
Then I will find traces
That are hidden inside me
Of far away lands
Then I will realize
That memories fade
And stop making demands
Then at last I will see
That all these puzzle pieces
Create a whole anew
Then I will decide
This to be the world
Without me and you
