Reincarnated as a Star

Some dream of palaces full of silver and gold
In the future of their afterlife, something to behold
Others dream of heaven, and pearly white gates
Passing the judgement, and receiving their fate

But all that I wish is to live as a star
Forever unbothered, my worries so far
Burning with bright blue beautiful light
My siblings the constellation that you see at night

A Cozy Day Inside

Some days, the world outside is too bright
And the thought of facing it gives me a fright
A cozy day inside of my room
Would be the cure against certain doom

Bundled up beneath soft covers
Me and my stuffed animals, cuddled like lovers
The lights are dim to relax my eyes
And my body is curled on the bed to lie

Life is hard to face all alone
A cozy day inside will help to atone
Shush now and calm your racing mind
Feel the sound of your heart beating, and what inside you will find

In just a blink, it's just past eight
Eyes are heavy, sealing sleep as fate
So next time you feel like life is unbearable
A cozy day inside of your room is ineffable

The Snake Pit, The Bee Hive, and The Lions' Den

Watch your step, so you don't end up here
Where people like you simply disappear
To be devoured like prey, they're on the hunt
Looking for their next victim for them to stunt

Beware of the snake pit, the ones who take
The ones who would drown you in a lake
Of their own selfish needs and desires
With a tongue forked in two, the best of liars

Don't shake the bee hive, you'll anger the queen
All of her minions buzz around free
Selecting their next target to sting
It could be you next, their reasoning is obscene

Careful of the lions' den, looking for a meal
They look mighty noble, but all they do is steal
With brute force they pounce on their target
The language of violence is the only one they get

So sharpen your knives, and ready your mind
You don't want to find yourself in their bind
They fill up this world, on every corner you see
Is a place where one of these three could be

Dear Moon Child

Dear moon child,

Shining in the darkness, you’ve always had to be
Facing every struggle and turmoil, constant calamity
Your light so evident in the darkest of hour
Beauty that blossoms, fulfilled like a flower

For even when unwhole, you light up the night
Never failing to appear, such a lunar sight
Divine moon child, keep on standing strong
When you come into yourself, you can do no wrong

My Little Moon

To my dearest Lunah

When I fall into pits of darkest nights
You alone are my purest of lights
When everything rains down on me like a monsoon
I live for the warm embrace of my little moon

Brighter than every star in the sky
I long to sit and stare into your eyes
Follow you to the ends of the unknown
With you I'll never be alone

We'll run through fields of fluorescent flowers
Stay there and dine for hours and hours
Following the hem of your light pink dress
With you by my side I never feel stress

We'll warm each other up during long winter nights
As our love spins together and takes wonderful flight
While crystals of snow fall onto our tongues
Your emotions of envy will fill up my lungs

And in your worst struggles I'll be by your side
Giving you all that my soul can provide
A crutch when you're crippled, a brace when you fall
I'll be there for you the moment you call

So let me share with you all of your best moments
As time multiplies our feelings like exponents
Colors exploding from every laughter
Forever together for here and thereafter

You pull me towards you just like the tides
With you I can my secrets confide
A kiss upon lips and my breath is gone
As my heart beats to your lucid song

What Eyes Cannot See

The thoughts washing over me
Confused with reality
Gripping on to my mind
They never let go

The things done to me
That eyes cannot see
Will never escape my head

Forever scarred by the abuse
The physical and the mental
Causing flashbacks to those moments
When the abuse was at its peak

Losing the ability to anchor
Being uncontrollably swept away
By memories I want burned out forever

Those unspeakable experiences
The fear that if I say them out loud
Than they will become real again
And use me in the same way that they did before

A never-ending worry that puts a filter on the world
And makes every person someone to fear
Feeling like prey under their eyes
The innate instinct to run
Overpowering all other senses

That if they were to happen again
My mind and body would not survive
But would be shattered
And the pieces trampled through
Until they become unrecognizable

Every touch causing a flinch
An uncomfortable sensation
Having to remind yourself that you are not in danger
Becomes an impossible feat to accomplish

What lurks in the dark doesn’t haunt me
But what goes out into the light of day

If only I could become a venomous creature
That could keep itself safe from the predators that are all around
Then maybe I would not be so broken

But until that happens
All I can do is hide
What eyes cannot see

Healing Hands

Healing hands, the most valuable asset in the world
To catch all who fall, to help those hiding in the corner curled
The gift of making someone into better health, how amazing
When all one can do is cry in a dark room, eyes glazing

If it weren’t for them who I am today would never exist
Their impact on the world, a luxury we would always miss
That those of all backgrounds and struggles
Would have a safe place, in those healing hands to nuzzle

One can think of nothing better to see
Than such a wonderful transformation, people filled with glee
Thank you to all of those healing hands
So that all who are lost, may once again stand

Black Sheep among Black Sheep

Among black sheep, I'm darker
Among outcasts, I sit alone
In this world I'll never truly fit
Like a square peg into a round hole

Among cats, I am the blackest
Among birds, I am a raven
The only emotions I receive are pity
Or the ones who wish to scar me even further

Among numbers, I am thirteen
Among pennies, face down
Where I go, things go wrong
All that comes to me is sorrow

My place is forgotten
My place is pitied
My place is valueless
My place is the black sheep among black sheep

The Girl No One Can Love

Isolated from siblings, never close enough
Beaten by a father, who didn't have any love
Abandoned by a mother, who couldn't accept
Family, a word associated with neglect

Abused by partners who couldn't control themselves
Never fitting in, sitting by alone by myself
A black sheep, an outcast, cast into the fire
Unless being bothered over perverted desires

In my life I have not received real love one time
I will continue to look for it, with tear stained eyes
With cuts on my arms, my hands and thighs
As the girl no one can love, until the day I die

One Rainy Day

One rainy day
Is peaceful and gentle
Light tapping on the window, soothing the mind
A soft mood set
Like it can wash all of your worries away
One rainy day
A violent storm
Trees swaying, threatening to break and fall
Pounding thunder scaring one under the covers
The power flickering
One rainy day
And the world is gray
Nothing matters anymore
The ambient noise numbing every sense
Stress, anxiety, depression
And you let go
For many
All it takes
Is one more rainy day
