That Girl

I’m 10 sitting by myself in sunday school
A girl walks in and I think nothing of it
She wouldn’t sit with me right?
Yeah No one ever did
I’m 11 sitting with that same girl in sunday school
I’m 12 sitting by myself in youth
because she’s not old enough yet
I’m 13 sitting beside her on the same pugh
During service passing notebooks back and forth
I’m fourteen sitting in my room
With that girl she's staying for My birthday party
I’m fifteen in her living room celebrating
her sisters birthday
I’m sixteen walking on the dirt road
At night with her and some our friends
I’m seventeen hiding in her room
From her younger siblings
I’m eighteen wishing I was at that girls house

Bikini

"All a man really wants, is a girl who looks good in a bikini." - Jack Freestone

A girl is walking at the beach
A man whistles and shouts
“Nice walk!” She ignores
The comment from him
She's walking to the water
“Be careful! You wouldn’t want to
Mess those beautiful legs up!”
He shouts, she scoffs and ignores him again
She’s laying on her towel tanning
“A guy doesn't like a girl with a red ass unless
He's the reason its red” he shouts once again
She looks at him and he laughing
A guy doesn't care if it makes you uncomfortable
If you barely have any clothes on the more
He will shout
She puts her clothes back on
“Stop covering your perfect body!”
He shouts

The Girl In the Mirror

I look in the mirror
I don’t recognize
The girl staring back at me
She’s not the girl
She was when she
Started this school
She’s not the girl
Who cried every night
About what her mother did
She’s not the girl worried
About where her father is
She’s content with who she is
She’s not the girl who hated
Walking through the hallways
Afraid of the people who would stare
She’s not the girl who used to
Wear baggy clothes every day
She doesn’t care what others think of her
She’s the girl who was influenced by her friends
She’s the girl who enjoys life to the fullest
Even when she does not want to
She feels insecure sometimes
She gets upset Sometimes
But she doesn’t let that control her
She controls it
Because the girl in the mirror
Is finally okay with who she really is.

Gap

There’s this gap
Between me and you
It causes pain
It causes distance between
What we want
It causes difference
It causes us to be distant and far away
It makes me regret ever
Meeting you
It's the gap that kills me
It's the gap that causes so much sorrow
It's the gap that causes you to be
4,168 miles away from me
It's the gap that keeps you away from me
