Saivi Kurian Poem
Existence
World is a drama stage,
which has a dwimmer screen,
that can trap you with a
net of desires.
Several stories, diverse roles,
pretending folks, everything is fake!
So why do you shed tears
for these ungrateful peeps?
Love is a phantasm,
which starts with a thirst
and ends up in a despair!
Life turns out a desert,
if you are not alert.
Do you want to put an effort,
or slog fruitlessly and revert?

Saivi Kurian Poem
As yellow leaves wither in the autumn breeze,
only apathetic thoughts remain
in this nonchalant existence of
my diseased body and over the hill mind!
It reminds me a time of agility,
A time of struggle and celebrations,
An age when dreams of a better future bloomed,
And leaping up those stairs to pluck the petals of success.
The illusion of youth, believing I would remain the same forever,
My beauty, once admired by the mirror,
My body, that lied about its boundless strength,
And the willpower that upheld my beliefs!
Now, my poor mind, dreadfully distressed,
on the fritz of my worn body parts.
Here I am, at the dusk of my life,
panting and staring at the steep stairs
called ‘rest of my time’!
I wonder, are there any tears left
to cry over the memories of my vigorous days?
Or, has time swallowed even the sorrow, leaving only silence?

Saivi Kurian Poem
after ‘The waste Land’, by T.S. Eliot
I met a woman on a glitching screen,
her face a whisk of pixels and prayer.
She spoke of shattered systems and survived code,
“The cloud remembers everything,” she said, "but forgets what matters.”
A rat hurried through my feed at dawn,
past memes and headlines, each a kind of omen.
I tried to fast-forward spring,
but April clawed through my notifications anyway.
In a thread of ghost towns and tagged regret,
I noticed a cafe with no floor, only static,
A man sipped Espresso beside a socket,
charging his distress while waiting for replies.
Data rains in blasts, all prediction and pop-ups.
The Sun sets in Beta,
and we refresh the silence,
hoping for something new to load.
For then, below algorithms and ash,
a bud breaks code in cracked concrete,
muted, untagged,
but blooming still.

Saivi Kurian Poem
Mid-Summer Rain
The warm sun rises
to take the fleeting life
of the morning dew.
The blazing sun makes
the red horizon laugh
by spreading its
dazzling white radiance.
The sizzling sun bathes
the folks in sweat
as they run and exercise
on the sidewalks and parks.
The fierce sun embraces
and scorches the skin
of the outside laborers.
Summer is the whining
of the boiling sweat, or
the restless lamentation
of the electric fans?
As I was ploughing through
this mid-summer’s lap and
yearning for some cool breeze,
A wind blew, a thunder was heard,
One drop, many drops,
you came pitter patter,
with the smell of fresh soil,
Oh my mid-summer rain!
I cannot stop gazing
at your dancing beauty.
As you slide down,
Caressing the tree leaves,
This fire-baked Earth
chilled in salvation
so my body and soul!
Come often to wipe off the sweat
and to wash away the grime.
Come often to dampen the dryness
and to hold off the drought.
Come often and often,
Oh my mid-summer rain!

Saivi Kurian Poem
Once upon a magical evening an enchanted fairy I happened to see,
dressed in a fantastical dress with two dappled wings of lace,
she shone like the midnight sun;
I must confess, she looked rather whimsical,
sitting there by a green wooden door, waiting for your lore!
Her eyes sparkled with spiritual wisdom, lips trembled a whisper of secrets,
She enticed me near with a gentle smile, promising wonders of other realms.
Her shimmering wings fluttered near the arch way,
I couldn't believe my eyes seeing a dream world, unfurled through the green wooden door.
I was embraced by a spiritual connection and enlightenment,
The purple rays guided me to explore new dimensions of reality,
Through the windows of my mind, I travelled beyond the constraints of life.
When I stepped out to the world where fate and fantasy blur the line,
I gazed at the stardust sky where moonlight hums a forgotten lore,
In my mind, the echoes of purple dreams drift ever more!

Saivi Kurian Poem
Teenagers, oh how they grow,
With hormones raging, they are a show!
Their taste in music and style that's new,
With beats so fresh and fashion so true.
They start to date and fall in love
Their hearts entwined like hand and glove.
Texting, chatting and late night talking,
Make parents cringe and start stalking.
Their moods swinging high and low,
Like waves that dance with ebb and flow.
Endless debates and slamming doors,
Throwing tantrums and silent wars.
Peer pressure mounts, the need to fit in,
Fear of failure, the uncertainty within.
Battles of adolescence, fierce and raw,
In the heart's arena, where emotions claw.
They storm through life with a youthful pride,
Yet inside, they seek a gentle guide.
At times they seem quite wild and untamed,
But deep inside, they're just a child unnamed.

Saivi Kurian Poem
Faith over fear
I saw a guiding light in the darkest night,
It was the hope that kept me going
and the love that kept me growing.
I feel secured with this faith,
No challenge is too great to endure,
For I know that with each step I take,
my faith in the heart will never forsake.
Through every trial and storm I face,
faith is the anchor that keeps me in place.
It gives me strength to overcome,
to rise above and find the freedom.
When the journey seems long and slow,
faith is the spark that ignites the inner fire,
and lifts me up ever higher.
Faith is the voice that whispers in my ear,
when I am gripped by doubt and fear.
It holds me steady,
when the winds of life seem too heavy.
Faith is the promise of a brighter tomorrow,
when today is filled with mere sorrow.
So, let me hold on tight to faith's strong hand,
and trust that it will help me withstand.

Saivi Kurian Poem
The sun shines bright and brilliant
In the vast Timbavati of the great Savanna
Where a majestic creature stands
With a mane as radiant as sunrays.
It’s Thor, the mighty white lion
His eyes are like golden topaz
That have a piercing yellow glow,
A gleam with a fierce show.
A white lion is a rare and wondrous sight,
This majestic creature roams its realm with might.
His roar echoes through the grass and trees,
His fur sheens like moonlight and is caressed by gentle breeze.
From breeding farm to Timbavati,
The journey was not easy, but a trial!
He Trod through hills and valleys,
And crossed streams in the forest alleys.
Through treacherous terrain, he never lost hope,
A beacon of courage on this epic scope.
Encountering obstacles testing his might,
His determination burned with a celestial light.
The awaited Timbavati, his noble lair,
A divine sanctuary beyond compare.
The land embraced him with open arms,
A homecoming celebration free from harms.
So, perchance you ever happen to spy,
A white lion staring with curious eye,
Bow your head and look upon with respect,
For it’s the king of Savanna you must not neglect.
*A tribute to the movie ‘Mia and the White Lion'.

Saivi Kurian Poem
Whisperer of the ancient tales,
Breath of the Earth that gales.
Daylight's gentle breeze,
And dark night's howling trees.
Bearer of seeds and carrier of scents,
Sculptor of dunes and herald of storms.
Invisible traveller and caressing lover,
Tender murmurer and refreshing cooler.
The wind, an unseen wanderer,
A blind, playful squanderer.
It sweeps the Earth with gentle fingers,
In every nook, its demeanor lingers.

Saivi Kurian Poem
A Dream at its Voyage
A dream is swimming across the ocean of my sleep,
which I had weaved in my heart long ago.
It is faltering like a lonely wave,
that finds no shores.
It feels weary and cannot wend anymore...
Ho! It is drowning into
the unknown depths in the darkness.
No! It cannot perish in the halfway of its voyage.
Will there be sunrays to show the way in its desolation?
Will there be a bright dawn to begin again the new path?
It wanted to reach the shores of fame,
It wanted to blossom like a Wild Rosemary.
Hey, gain back your vigor and swim hard.
You were born not to submerge in the sufferings,
but to fly up in the sky with your endowed wings!
