Fight Against the Current

I am as cold as ice inside an arctic force wind.
A glacier slowly melting from things I can't control.
I can see the end but growing stronger is my goal.
I hang on like a ship that's sinking so tragically.
The world will move you if you let it, so magically.
On the outside you will see sad eyes worn down from every wave.
I wish I could love myself enough to be saved,
The summer sun is sweltering hot and the ice is mostly gone.
If you look really closely you'll see the same droplets in the ocean moving like a song.
Every day is getting harder but each day I let go and become strong.
Finally the glacier in my heart has melted thoroughly.
Now I feel I won this war, as I am apart of everything the infinite ocean I feel full heartedly.
I move as the sea moves let go of all I hold.
Now I shine and sparkle a force so bold.

Not Normal

What is normal?

I have skin, eyes to see, a nose to smell, a mouth to eat, ears to hear the songs I love.

Normal but feel like extraterrestrials from above.

I yearn to travel to places I have never seen.

Will I feel normal when I go across sea?

I understand people more than most.

Because of that I observe and seem invisible like I'm a ghost.

I dress pretty normal for a lady.

Put mismatching socks slouchy hat maybe.

My eyes are big, honest, and kind.

Maybe normal isn't a thing I can find.

Unique as I am is beautiful too.

At least I'm genuine, yes it's true.

I love chasing sunsets like a gypsy.

Nature calls making me shifty.

I see through people and know their heart.

I'm sensitive not normal and accepting myself is a start.

I'm creative, an artist, a writer, a poet.

At least I am me and I know it.

Dusty Glasses

There is times in life when you feel like you're standing still.

Day after day you remain a glass in the back of the cabinet dusty, unmoved, and unfilled.

Its far out of reach and in the back.

There's too many glasses so you lost track.

At times life moves too fast.

It feels like a bullet from a gun blast.

You're on a rollercoaster that never stops.

You're the car in a high speed chase with the cops.

At times life feels perfectly fine.

Like falls and their colors and they way things shine.

The feeling of home and that one thing is mine. At times life feels like absolute .

You scrub and scrub but theres still grit.

You strike the match a million times and it won't stay lit.

One day life forces change on you.

So you pack up most of your things then out of the blue,

You remember your favorite glass on the shelf.

So you clear the clutter, clean it and pour a drink for yourself.

Anxious Prone

Crawling on my floor.
I stare hazily at the intricacies of the wood grain and realize slowly all the messes in my way.

Curl up, holding myself, prepare yourself darling life is a beautiful maze.
I feel the cold on my skin, I feel choked from the waters that I swim.

I dream each night nightmares it's hard to fall asleep. Everything inside of me flows and starts to creep.

I hold my breath with panic. Feeling isolated and lost on this planet.

Anxiety surrounds my body. My stomach feels all knotty.

Can I ground myself. I go from counting 1 all the way to twelfth.

My eyes become blotchy and the haze rolls away like the fog.
I release the pressure in my body like a drain with a clog.

My world starts to pull together. My breathing starts to slow.
Hopefully in a few minutes I'll be better.
My strength will surely grow.

Lover and Friend

When I first met you I couldn't wait.

I sat their enchanted like a fish and bait.

I would sneak peeks behind the door.

Wishing and hoping for more.

Years have past now and we're still side by side.

For years I have laughed, smiled, and cried.

My best friend and lover in one.

Life wouldn't of been nearly as fun.

Somedays haunt my memories.

Our souls intertwine like vines on trees.

Ships pass in the night.

My future looks grey without your light.

I love you always my sweet friend.

I hope when the time comes we both mend.

We went down some dark paths.

There's always signs to bring us back.

I hope you know when the storms come.

I'll be with you then and in the sun.

Out of Control

Created from society

Controlled substance of what we should be.

Don't do that.

Be bright not flat.

You're this you're that.

Close your eyes don't think to much.

If you get to high they'll use your crutch.

We are but pieces in a game.

Don't show too much hide your flame.

Our intelligence based on a test.

Get an A without common sense.

Dress yourself in what we show.

Don't drive to fast don't drive too slow.

We are but animals in a cage.

At least we can write on a page.

Don't let them dull you.

Don't follow along too.

Be yourself open up.

Don't drink the poison in the cup.

Watch everything don't be a sheep.

For we are feeding from the government's teet.

Don't let yourself hang by strings.

Their little puppet the money, their kings.

Break the walls.

Mute the calls.

Stare straight through them all.

Break the mold

You'll have to be bold.

Don't follow in traffic

Make sure you craft it.

Take your steps.

Make a mess.

Shine that light

Your individual bright.

Feel

Set me free....

Set my soul free so I can leave.

I want to love and I want to laugh.

I want to dance, barefoot down the winding path.

I want to sleep under the darkest skies with the brightest stars.

I was to sing in fast cars.

I want to fix myself so I'll get better.

I want to write you a letter....

I want to drink coffee and smoke a cigarette.

I want to chase the wind hold memories where they have been kept.

I want to see life beyond this space I'm in.

I want to have beautiful experiences ones that touches the soul within.

I want to eat food from Italy, Paris, and ireland.

And I want to follow my favorite bands.

I want to lay under the red wood trees and read my books.

Or in a book store, against a pillow, in a tiny nook.

I want someone to give me that sexy, I want you, infatuated look.

I want to smile, for real.

I want to finally feel.

Lovely

Me beneath a tree. Feels as lovely as a songbird flying free. Depart this world with all the beautiful imagery. Sweetly.
