Vision of Dreams

even without the warmth of the wise
there is radiating the unseen
a desire where only truth lies
in the place of the in-between

do not be afraid in this endeavour
visions of hope will come to you
and before the time of forever
eyes will open, and see a renew

even in the darkness, there will be light
as mist descends from the mountains
the weary shall have removed their blight
and they will feel refreshment of fountains

we must nurture the sounds of tomorrow
teaching them to carry their weight
if they become one, they will banish sorrow
and take their place, beyond the gate

now tend to the trees and flowers
care for all oceans and streams
abiding with you now, the unseen powers
guiding you through the vision of dreams

The Man From Eritrea

Around one hundred millennia ago
there was a man from Eritrea.
“I run like gazelle and can throw,
a spear to kill was my idea”.

Feed my family, develop a tribe,
with teamwork hunger satiated.
But now too many subscribe,
so it's time we migrated.

No more can we sustain here,
we must find pastures new.
Sadly my time is drawing near,
so son it is up to you.

Wandering north meet Neanderthal
interact with a white skin wonder.
Ice advance, again home we must haul,
and our peace is blown asunder.

Head west we must choose a road,
one way Roman another Viking.
Just another human episode,
to verdant island of our liking.

Ancestral history investigations,
I come across a heritage stat.
67 million in just 25 generations.
I could hardly believe that.

But its true check it out,
two parents and keep doubling.
It soon hits 67 million no doubt,
in just 500 years, could this be troubling?

Well maybe a concern to some,
but when it is all translated.
The probability has become
that we must all be related.

So I book a DNA test place
to investigate my genetic area.
It tells me that there is a trace,
of a man from Eritrea.

A Wonder Wander

I wonder
in the past
did a creator sing
a scientist perhaps
experimental mishaps
an explosion in nothing
and he was killed in the blast

I wonder
an alternate invention
could there be a maker
of this huge universe song
who when bored, moved along
to seek pastures new, a forsaker
and now in a different dimension

I wonder
about the connection
between time and space
only history in the night skies
because how the speed of light flies
and will other life reach our place
maybe that will be our direction

I wonder
about billions of years
we're not even a percent
but we think we're the thing
forever those destined to sing
who think they're heaven sent
passing down DNA of their tears

I wonder
what else shall I do today
get a shower and a bite
then meet a few friends
a joke or talk trends
filling day and night
my part in the play

I wonder...
what do you wonder...

Little Me

it's little me
I live in here
growing up I see
a life full of fear

how do I grow
doing this or that
how do I know
when I just fall flat

hello shorty
little blue eyed boy
you'll not make fourty
no mothers joy

the bully to beat
what do I do
join gang on the street
prejudice soon flew

it's little me
I live in here
growing up I see
a life full of fear

now an employers place
how far have I grown
being honest to their face
young tactless I am now known

it's little me
I live in here
growing up I see
a life full of fear

I stumble
I crash
I crumble
I thrash

then destiny's arrival
in the nick of time
she becomes my ALL
life's song now sublime

a couple of additions
more melodies to hear
some chorus renditions
and gone is the fear

it's little me
I live in here
grown up I see
life is not to fear

it's never too late
for something new
a lockdown fate
and a different view

something more
for little me
still not knowing the score
is rhyming insanity

it's little me
I live in here
grown up I see
we must persevere

in the tides of time
little me has now flown
just me and rhyme
in the twilight zone

It's Time

"It is always the right time to do the right thing." Martin Luther King, Jr.

Tick tock, the pendulum swings,
in a clock is where time sings.

Tick tock, back and forth, left, right,
eternally day and night.

Tick tock, in society,
left to right polarity.

Tick tock, there is so much pain,
how can we be one again.

Tick tock, in equality,
is a place all can be free.

Tick tock, time for a new start,
look for the beat of a heart.

Tick tock, in the mirror too,
reflect this beat within you.

Tick tock, t'will not be easy,
we all must strive to be free.

Tick tock, the new paradigm,
with resolve, all in good time.

The Red Darkness

"We can now destroy or we can cherish - the choice is ours" David Attenborough

in the darkness, voices are crying
earth aches but no oath is sworn
rivers of human souls denying
until red sky in earth's early morn

we need a voice who will sing
wake up, wake up, humanity
a harmony to make alarms ring
break up, break up, insanity

nature's blight still in advance
ancestors see no reason to stress
until the reaper performs his dance
leaving nothing but a nuclear mess

we need a voice who will sing
wake up, wake up, humanity
a harmony to make alarms ring
break up, break up, insanity

just you and me now in this nightmare
the others left before tomorrow
too late to voice that they care
the red darkness voices only sorrow

we need a voice who will sing
wake up, wake up, humanity
a harmony to make alarms ring
break up, break up, insanity

hear the voice
wake up, wake up, humanity
it's our choice
break up, break up, insanity

Bluebird

call of the bluebird
flapping wings to attract mates
~ the ice receding

happiness blooming
life seeks a new perfect peace
