Johannesburg

A busy city,
Lots of light
A dazzling skyline
Great by night
African sun,
Almost set
A stack of memories
Hard to forget
Africans united
Happy together
Proud to be there, now and forever
The one and only place to be
Is the city run by the ANC
One day I’ll return alone
To only city I can call home.

A Race For Life

A Race for Life

We’ve been faced with a time bomb
We’ve been faced with this crime
We need to act and quickly
We’re running out of time

Millions of people dying
Of this illness every year
A world wide epidemic
Affecting the far and near

Do you really understand
How serious it Can be?
It’s killing all our people
It could be you or me

So much money spent each year
Just trying to find a cure
We’ll not admit defeat
That I know for sure

It’s just another burden
Of which we have to face
Just taking over our world
Destroying the human race

But we will not be beaten
Nor give up strength or hope
No matter what will show up
With what we have to cope

We have a war to fight
In each and every nation
One day we will sing with pride
In massive celebration

So Long and Farewell

A life long friend,
A soul mate,
A heroine, a star
A woman so phenomenal,
The very best by far

I never thought I’d have to
Say these last goodbyes
So long and farewell my hero
A girls so strong and wise

These last few weeks of life
Since your diagnosis
Have been so tough, but you pulled through
So difficult to notice

One day we will meet again
And live our lives together
We’ll start a new life, you and me
And share one heart forever

Take a Look Around You

Take a look around you
What do you see?
War and famine
Death and hate
Lives being torn apart

If you could make a wish now
What would it be?
Peace and love
Food and money
Socialism, no greed

Take a look around you
What do you see?
Food, money
Shelter, protection
More than what you need

Now think about the others
Who don’t have what we have
And all we do is take for granted
The luxuries in our life

Maybe one day in the near future
You’ll take another look around you
And see the love and the peace and a socialistic world
A truly spectacular view

Edale

I sat alone in the meadow
The fields so green and pure
A world so soft and tranquil
You must agree I’m sure

The evening sun was setting
Just higher than the trees
Whose leaves were gently blowing
Against the summer night’s breeze

The trickling sound of water
Flowing in the streams
Foxes drinking gingerly
So beautiful it seems

The sheep were bleating softly
And the pheasants flying low
The grazing cows so docile
And the leaping of the doe

The scent of a summer’s evening
And the countryside’s pure smell
An atmosphere so tangible
A place I know so well.

Love of My Life

No lover, friend, no girl or boy
Will ever take your place
No matter with who I fall for
You’ll never be replaced

I never thought it would be so tense
As I say to you ‘good bye’
I kiss and salute you from the gate
Beneath the starry sky

Each minute and hour of every day
Is valuable to me
The most we’ll make from the time we have
So precious it will be

Many people I will meet
Many friends I’ll make
But no one man will take your step
For our will bond will never break

The physical distance between us
May be a million miles
But nothing will break our partnership
Our lives will be worth while

Lauren

Each day I wake up feeling weak
No strength to smile, No strength to speak

I want so much to get away
But these three words I need to say

I think about you day and night
And in my world you are the light

I lay in bed at night and dream
Of the greatest gift, of the brightest beam

A light so bright and golden shining
A star of love, a silver lining

But I’m so scared of what you’ll say
I fear and dread that future day

Round and round my mind does it stew
That above all else, I love you.

With you in my life I’d be content
This angle of love that God hath sent

I need to put my point across
That without you I have such loss

No matter what you do or say
I will love you from this day.

My Brother

He was my brother
He was everything to me
My kingdom come
All I ever wanted to be

So many years of loving
We dedicated together
An eternal friendship, an eternal bond
A love we’d share forever

Until the day that wrecked our lives
Until we got that news
That my baby brother, all I had
I was going to lose

I held him tightly in my arms
And told him not to cry
That he’ll be safe and in great care
Of the angels in the sky

Each night I’d sit beside his bed
And watch my brother moan
In pain and awful heartache
Just wanting to come home

I watched his illness killing him
Deteriorating fast
I’d kiss his hand and stroke his face
Each day and night that passed

Each night I’d look out from my home
At the starry skies above
And hope that god is treated with
My brother’s sacred love
