Wwyd

What would you do if forced to lie,
if you had to fight the urge to curl up and die,
If to fall asleep untouched was the dream never got,
And the secrets and shame made you start losing the plot.

What would you say to a child of three,
Forced to touch something she's not meant to see,
Whose too young to escape him, to run and hide,
And too young to explain that he hurts her insides.

Would you move worlds to save her, regardless of cost,
Or shun and disown her coz she's messed up and lost,
Would you delude yourself into thinking she'd lied,
Coz to protect those she loved she chose to hide.

What would you say to her if only you'd known,
Would reach out and tell her she wasn't alone,
If faced with that problem what would you say,
Im sorry'? 'i love you'? 'i'll make him pay'?

Or would you be angry at her for the secret she bared,
Though she only stayed silent coz she was ed up and scared,
Would you judge her unworthy, unwanted, unclean?
Would you have it in you to be that callous and mean.

What would you say to one so full of shame,
Who fell asleep thinking that she was to blame,
That she deserved the pain from the bad things he did,
Would you tear him apart for hurting your kid.

What would you do to make her well,
To stop her decent into addiction and hell,
To help her to heal and start making things right,
To stop her from crying and cutting tonight.

What would you do if it was you instead,
And all this bull is locked up in your head,
No one to talk to, no way to be free,
What would you do, if you were me?

Mirrors Are Painful

Oh what a tragedy, what an utter disgrace
It was never my intention to recreate,
A near perfect carbon copy of the bad mad old me
I fought so hard to avoid this so how can this possibly be?!

The past and present have come to collide
The same old bull arguement but I'm on the other side
Your hostile eyes scream at the grown ups treating you so unfairly
My terrified sleepless one cry back I'm trying to keep you safe, JUST LISTEN TO ME

But I know I'm on the losing side
Coz 20 years ago I was you
Facing off against your nan
Who lost this same old battle too

Just know when you need me you know where I am
Coz ill never turn you away my son Coz I will always be your mam

A Princess'Lullaby

Little princess you've had a long day,
Running,laughing,keeping boredom at bay,
It's been lots of fun but now you must rest,
You need lots of sleep to look at your best.

So take off your day clothes and put on your nightie,
Then mam'll come up and tuck you in tightly,
I'll read you a story and sing you a song,
And you'll meet me in dreamland before very long.

There you're a princess and live in a castle,
You ride a pink bike with handlebar tassles,
You have a big bedroom and four poster bed,
With big fluffy pillows to tickle your head.

You own lots of toys and a furry white horse,
He lives in a stable,a big one of course,
You feed his dinner then off you both fly,
You shout look at me mammy as you shoot by.

But now its the morning and time to get up,
We've got nanny to see and Immy to beat up,
But the same time tonight once you've laid down,
I'll be in our castle to give you a crown.

You're a princess in dreamland and always will be,
And even in the real world you're a princess to me.

Til Death Us Do Part , So Who's Killing Who

Doomed to repeat mistakes of the past,
Declarations of regret that seldom last,
Promises to change,to learn and to grow,
Inevitably lead to betrayal and woe.

How cruel and fickle emotions can be,
You're both madly in love then suddenly,
You're no longer sleeping in the same bed,
And another man occupies the dreams in her head.

So you beg and you plead, scream, swear and cry,
Get her word to give it another try,
We'll sort it out love,we're meant to be'
Ii'd fight the whole world to keep you with me'.

But the love she once felt has withered and died,
You've used and abused her,hit her and lied,
You've taken that spark, extinguished her light,
She's worn out from trying and relinquished the fight.

Doomed to repeat mistakes of the past,
And vows to break free that never last,
To hard to pack up a life and just go,
Sometimes its easier to stay with the devil you know

Let's Pretend I'M Ready,I'M Not

My son you'll wake up an adult tomorrow,
And I"ll try my hardest to play pretend
That I'm as Happy and excited as you are yourself
But i know its the beginning of the end.

Not for you your life's just at the start
But it's the end of the world as I can see
Coz it means that you're going to start making a life of your own
And you'll no longer have need for me.

I knew this day was coming from the day you were born,
That I only had you and your sister on loan,
But she's gone and left and you'll soon do the same
And I don't want a life on my own.

But you'll never know any of this,
Makeup, a fake smile and a show,
I'll laugh and play happy mam all day Because it's not anything you need to know

How do you cope when your kids are your world
And you have to watch as your world moves away
How do you cope with the empty black feelings
When you're only reason for livings gone away
