Let's Pretend I'M Ready,I'M Not

My son you'll wake up an adult tomorrow,
And I"ll try my hardest to play pretend
That I'm as Happy and excited as you are yourself
But i know its the beginning of the end.

Not for you your life's just at the start
But it's the end of the world as I can see
Coz it means that you're going to start making a life of your own
And you'll no longer have need for me.

I knew this day was coming from the day you were born,
That I only had you and your sister on loan,
But she's gone and left and you'll soon do the same
And I don't want a life on my own.

But you'll never know any of this,
Makeup, a fake smile and a show,
I'll laugh and play happy mam all day Because it's not anything you need to know

How do you cope when your kids are your world
And you have to watch as your world moves away
How do you cope with the empty black feelings
When you're only reason for livings gone away

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.
