Mirrors Are Painful

Oh what a tragedy, what an utter disgrace
It was never my intention to recreate,
A near perfect carbon copy of the bad mad old me
I fought so hard to avoid this so how can this possibly be?!

The past and present have come to collide
The same old bull arguement but I'm on the other side
Your hostile eyes scream at the grown ups treating you so unfairly
My terrified sleepless one cry back I'm trying to keep you safe, JUST LISTEN TO ME

But I know I'm on the losing side
Coz 20 years ago I was you
Facing off against your nan
Who lost this same old battle too

Just know when you need me you know where I am
Coz ill never turn you away my son Coz I will always be your mam
