Candice Yates Poem
Life together is a sip of joy,
familiar with each other's noise,
secrets shared together from the soul,
euphoric laughter spent like change;
hands laced in rings of wedding,
physical touch screams their name,
smiling eyes caught on film,
holidays spent holding you for a thrill;
hugging hips and dancing slowly,
heart beats in sync,
inhaling your scent and relishing its power
compliments lead flattery;
hands intertwined deep in prayer,
lives built on nothing but care.e

Candice Yates Poem
I dream of the wind
blowing through my hair,
that's how I win
the rush of air is heaven sent
cold or warm;
Gods breath is my friend
a power with great might;
that can threaten any town
and tear down any gate,
let a twister form within my soul
the weather is splendiferous
oh, how I love it so,
car windows rolled down;
zipping down the freeway
my hand stuck out;
being forced back by this whim
I inhale the particles
swishing around in the wind,
but I never choke
to the trees
I want to sway and bend.

Candice Yates Poem
The needle was my destiny
yet I choose to be free,
crystals dance inside my dreams
but I choose life
no more flames licking at a glass bowl,
no more chasing fantasies
my faith changed me;
to be a faithful wife
and loving mother,
no longer a lowly drug addict
laying on the bathroom floor,
with blood dripping from my arm
angels know my name
and Jesus sings me to sleep,
forever found
and lost to the game,
my friends don't recognize me
they're stuck in a haze
a cloud so thick
you can see it for days,
drugs made me steal
but love made me heal;
I'm finally living the dream.

Candice Yates Poem
I dare you to give up
can't you feel the air?
as I fly by your ego
you ate my despair,
It's caught between your teeth
your skin laced in grief,
relatable suffering;
gripping your mindless thoughts
don't you remember peace?
Forgetful sins;
committed with greed
dressed up in satin sheets,
look at your ruby red cheeks;
we could chase the seas
I count the days;
to remember the chaos,
the chaos;
you brought to me
don't remove it now,
or you'll choke on the memories.

Candice Yates Poem
I am splendiferous in all my shades of blue
my eyes are like fiery Saffire;
embedded in my skull
glee does not flee from me
don't trip over my wings,
no longer in a dream,
my pupils dilate at the sound of the universe
screaming at me to be free,
I demand faith;
serenity and loyalty
you can't break the broken,
but that's a lie
because I'm no longer shattered
I flow like the sea,
breathing in glory
I dream and I dream;
lost in thought
there's nobody like me
egotistical?
Maybe you're afraid to be seen,
because if you ask me
I'm as poised as I can be,
compliment my stride
I will have everything that I need,
my bravery knows no bounds
the view from up here is breathtaking,
you know you can spread your wings;
and come and see,
I know not fragility
my battle scars make angels sing
don't believe me?
They're up there right now
listen, as their voices shake the ground,
it's beautiful, I know
it's all this peace
I've gratefully found.

Candice Yates Poem
Leaving marks on his flesh,
my words mean I'm here
trapped in his silky hands
I'm digging us a hole;
to trap our veneration for eachother
now let us just dream.

Candice Yates Poem
His eyes of gold;
peer into my soul
with a milk mustache
he licks his fancy,
torn between two worlds
reality is magical,
says him so
needing to be free,
yet longing for a hand;
to scratch his silky locks
strike while you can
his finicky soul;
dances in the wind
dreaming of playing again
his sorcery is made of stone,
annoyed by your attention
yet never wanting to truly be alone
his meow is a roaring fire;
piercing through the thickest of skulls
biscuits he serves by the claw,
treasuring every chance he gets to fall;
Quit to land on all fours,
he sprints so fast;
you could say he's climbing up doors.

Candice Yates Poem
Have your wounds begun to pachyntic?
I can hardly feel mine anymore,
bathe in my sin
let me wash you with my skin,
shall I dedicate my breath to thee?
Your tattoo sleeve glicening in this heat,
don't you realize?
These mountains;
they speak to me
my body lays between them,
water gushing below my feet
I planted those lillies for you,
I'm plagued with a fever
the one you're familiar with,
I see your name written in ink;
I delenda the words,
but in my mind they're on repeat
cantilatting to a forever song
catch a glimpse of my heart;
my lungs too, are inaling you,
you make me feel panurgic
your hand will never be free;
from holding mine,
that's how the universe planned it
and that's how it will be,
I'm lost within you,
don't ever let me be found
ignore the missing reports
just let me read you sweet poetry,
something to pass the time
something to help us sleep.

Candice Yates Poem
Fever pitch dreaming
finding waves;
in amble forgiveness
touching God's grace,
but never realizing the truth
dragging through life,
always bleeding
from the begging,
empty hands;
grasp for quantity
desperately dull,
seeking lies
instead of lasting peace,
worldly delusion;
blocking my point of view
breaking rightful freedoms,
testing hearts for their grief
miserably misunderstood,
lacking basic knowledge
to give little relief,
I'm fond of the memories
running beneath my skin,
taking on wicked tactics
untill the bitter end.

Candice Yates Poem
The redamancy flowed from within,
jumping down the line,
the nacarat sun;
blinding the ones alive,
listen to the canorous sounds;
blowing in the wind,
even though they are flagitious,
their nature seems forced,
how vociferous they can be;
lacking intrinsic will,
dripping with such disabuse,
we are fairly full of commination;
thus, we must sashay in the other direction,
the dreadful dream of flying free,
receiving nothing, yet staying fain;
their misery is effable at best,
dropping left, flipping right,
their beginning was left behind;
deep within the past of time,
any and all forgetting their Elysian minds.
