Charlene Swift Poem
Today I saw a man on the train,
he looked concerned, his face was strained,
As if his mind was miles away,
and I wondered what he'd done today.
Did he spend the day at a hospital
where his loving wife is frail and ill?
Is he a big shot CPA
who lost a million dollars today?
Perhaps he's a surgeon, who although he tried
to save a life, the young boy died.
Did he escort his only daughter to college
hoping she'll fill her head with knowledge?
Did he just murder his lady friend
who told him today their affair must end?
I saw myself on the train today
Amused at how my mind does stray!

Charlene Swift Poem
The days go by and still I cry
And wonder why you had to die.
We saw your pain, we tried our best
To put your troubled mind to rest.
As the days went by, as summer turned to fall
We searched our souls, our minds, our hearts
To make sense of it all.
I realize that your heart was broken,
That too many feelings had gone unspoken.
I know that you are now at peace
I know you're free of pain
I also know when my life's through
We'll laugh together again.

Charlene Swift Poem
My little girl, those big blue eyes,
Could melt the coldest heart.
And at the same time
Warm a heart that's true.
And with those eyes, I hope someday
You find someone,
Who loves you just as much
As I love you.
I wish for you, my little girl,
That days are always bright.
I pray that I can teach you
What is good and what is right.
I hope for you, my little girl
The best that life can bring.
I want to always see you smile,
To hear your laughter, hear you sing.
I want you to remember
That no matter what you do,
You'll always be my little girl,
And I'll always love you!

Charlene Swift Poem
She holds a place within my heart
That no one else can fill.
Just the thought of her makes me smile,
It always has and always will.
Her smile will brighten up your day,
Like an angel, she's so pretty.
Her laughter makes me giggle.
She's funny and she's witty.
The twinkle in her eyes
Is brighter than the stars above her.
She's a special little Irish lady,
She's my Grandmom, and I love her.

Charlene Swift Poem
Last year I lost my Father,
my hero, my friend.
Now there's a hole in my heart
that I know will never mend.
His smiling face, his helping hand
are some of the things I miss.
How I wish that once again
I could give him a hug, give him a kiss.
I miss the smell of his cologne,
I miss the songs he used to sing.
My life's just not the same
Without the happiness he'd bring.
Though I am thankful for the memories
of all the joyful times we had.
I still miss my hero, my friend,
I miss my Dad.
