My Dad

Last year I lost my Father,
my hero, my friend.
Now there's a hole in my heart
that I know will never mend.
His smiling face, his helping hand
are some of the things I miss.
How I wish that once again
I could give him a hug, give him a kiss.
I miss the smell of his cologne,
I miss the songs he used to sing.
My life's just not the same
Without the happiness he'd bring.
Though I am thankful for the memories
of all the joyful times we had.
I still miss my hero, my friend,
I miss my Dad.

Hello, May I offer my condolences on the passing of your father From your words I would say he was a wonderful parent. I felt the sadness in your poem and the love you have for your father shone through. Congrats on your poem, you made your father proud.
