Me and Mom

Years have come and long gone past
But here we are again at last
Back together, me and mom
Close like lovers' high school prom
Standing strong, two peas in pod
A gift reclaimed by faith in God
No more tears or lonely years
Nothing left but laughs and cheers
From here on out it's her and I
Me and mom until we die

Remembered

Moonscaped, whispereing butterfly parades
Calming tethered hearts with glittering cascades
The widespread wonder of joyous content
Reaching out like angel wings of glory heaven sent
What a tangled web we weave with eyes that can't see
Perfect, harmonious exuberance surrounding you and me
Have we really been so bound and made ourselves so blind
That we should tear the world apart with a senseless mind
Is this the way our lives play out or are we set to change
Make a choice and take a stand, the end is now in range
Are we to be remembered as the mindless bunch we've been
Picked apart piece by piece until nothing's left within
Or shall we be remembered as the glowing human race
Who together as a team saved this wondrous place

Tick Tock, Tick Tock

Tick tock, tick tock
That's the sound of your life's clock
Time is slipping with every moment
And every mistake, very potent
There's a strong effect with every action
Of time on earth, you hold but a fraction
Make it count the best you can
Do all you can to lend a hand
Show your love to all around
help a kid up off the ground
Live a life you won't regret
You are your only threat
Don't let anyone or anything stop you
And remember you can accomplish all you want to
This is your time, so live it well
Because eventually, you will hear that final bell
A call from God on judgement day
When asked how you live, what will you say
Are you ready for the stop of the clock
Tick tock, tick tock

Something Real

So many paths with so many forks
Too many roads with too many quirks
Mysterious allure masking beautiful intrigue
Which direction will bring your love to me
Is it up, is it down, maybe left, maybe right
My lonely heart longs for your guiding light
Show me a sign, please, just one hint
Of something real, I need a glint
A shining star to show me the path
To a love like none I've ever had
One on one towards a two way street
A life of forever when our hearts meet
Nothing more, nothing less than only the best
Something real with no contest

Society Erased

Cataclysmic efforts put forth to destroy society
Like a rehabilitated man at the peak of his sobriety
Propriety erased from the standard way of life
Prolific conversations causing pain and strife
Like sacrificial murders, there's a pattern in the system
Set out to destroy our economiesnatural rhythm
Driven forces sent forth to wipe us out
Like a slaughter to the lamb, causing fear and doubt
Dubious explanations as to why this motion's made
To drain our souls of all comfort like an empty glass of lemonade
Just like a game of spades, it only seems we can follow suit
But pay close enough attention, we can throw them off and raise dispute
We can cripple their defenses as our freedom is embraced
We must work to keep life going before society's erased

A Poem About Mothers

Children listen closely to what I have to say
It is an important reflection for you to think about each day
Honor your mothers for everything they do
If it wasn't for them, there would be no you
Give them a hug every chance you get
I guarantee that is something they will never forget
Tell them you love them no matter your mood
They are your mothers, there's no need to be shrewd
Let them know they're special the best way you can
If you see they need help, lend them a hand
Spend time with them every chance that may arise
Or you will surely wish you would have when she dies
A mother's love is something God made very special
And may be the only force to lift you when you fall
Other than God, of course, but they are made from Him
So show them you love them from deep within

Going Home

Leave the tears behind and say a little prayer
Set your sights to Heaven because I am going there
My time on earth was pleasantly full of joy and love
But it's time for me to go home to the Lord above
He's calling me and I can't resist
So before I go, I leave you with this
My family should know that I love them deeply
And for all my friends, I thank you sweetly
For all the times you've pulled me through
These last few words are left for you
Don't be sad, it don't end here
I will be watching over you so have no fear
We'll meet again when the time is right
But for now I must say goodnight
To me you're saints for the love you've shown
Now put a smile on because I am going home

Family

A group of people, hand in hand
Whom for each other always stand
No matter what, through thick and thin
Always have a reason to laugh and grin
Scratch my back and I'll scratch yours
Together sharing life's allures
Through it all, love still remains
Unchanged with no apparent stains
This is family, tried and true
And mine, I'm lucky, is all of you

Forever Long

Shadowed whispers of a lover's heart
Fighting hard to not break apart
A year's gone by with grievous fights
Nothing wanted but wrongs be rights
Don't want our time to go down the drain
The love's too deep amongst the pain
The hugs, the kisses, they mean too much
Wherever you place them, my heart they touch
There they stay forever holding strong
And that's why I love you forever long

Boundless Beautiful Earth

Mountain valley landscapes and sunset shores
Decorated pastures full of roses without thorns
Graceful serenity touched by twilight stars
Boundless beautiful Earth that God made ours
Ravishing green splendor of the bushes and trees
Silhouettes of shadows cast brilliantly by the moon
Caterpillars turn to butterflies in a miraculous cocoon
Birds taking flight of many shapes, sizes, and colors
Graceful animals strategically joining these wonders
Lustrous shimmering oceans and cascading streams
We live in a world only imagined in dreams
How can we not see that life is a beautiful release
With all these beautiful gifts, we should always be at peace
This is a world created just like the sweetest fairy tale
So live like you're a star and let all your dreams prevail
