A Lone Moment

A LONE MOMENT

It’s on that moment
When the sky is dark blue
With stars brightly shining, sparkling and twinkling
While children are peacefully asleep dreaming singing

‘ twinkle twinkle little star
How I wonder what you are.’

Yes! It’s that lone moment
When you are just alone with your thoughts
And your heart crushed by pain

The pain of failure and rejection
Regret and indecision

That moment
When you are sad,depressed,stressed
And totally confused
While your head is bombarded
With negative thoughts

The moment when you sit down alone
And humble enough to listen

Then He speaks
And His smooth voice finds its way to your ears
That says,

“ my child
Peace be with you

I know right now your mind is full of worries
And your heart is broken
By your heavy burdens

I know you feel your situation
Cannot by any words be described
But have you totally forgotten
That on your heart my word is inscribed?

That with my hands you were created
And through your nostrils
In you I breathed life

See, I have loved you with an everlasting love
And with loving kindness have I drawn you
I will never leave nor forsake you

So stop shading your precious tears
Hold my hand
And let me carry your burdens and fears
Till time comes to an end

Always remember this;

All things work together
For the good of those who love me,
And those who are called
According to my purpose.”

Broken

~Broken~??

I know you've been broken
More often than not

But try rising again
and forgetting all about your hurtful past

spread your wings and fly
like an eagle-soar above the storm up high

Then those who left you broken
shall slap themselves in regret

Because then
They'll realize you were born to be great

Be afraid not of the storm
For ahead lies the calm

Insidious

I know the Bible says REJOICE
but still I have lost my PEACE

silence has become my loudest SHOUT,
because of the screaming voices within me I couldn't let OUT

fear and anxiety invaded my HEART
while pain and sadness ensnared my MIND
maybe that's why I feel so Lost
cause they all marked me from BEHIND

I don't understand myself ANYMORE
because of what I have been THROUGH
silence has become my new NORMAL
cause my voice has failed to escape my darkest inner ROOM

please don't laugh at me when am silent
cause it wasn't my CHOICE
pain made me shout out the loudest
and since then I have lost my VOICE

yes, I still hear the cries of my soul deep WITHIN
trapped BETWEEN
the horrific walls of heart with scarry emotional ENGRAVINGS

Stop! people for once just listen to ME
Silence is turning me into a beast and am no longer who I used to BE

Lord come to my aid sooner or my chest will BURST
cause pain, sadness, and stress has filled it to the FULLEST

I am indeed helpless,

afraid to look even in the mirror cause it reflects my WORST
now I have finally opened up that when it comes to pretending, am just not the BEST

back then my mouth used to be wide open like the uncovered POT
shouting too much while my peaceful personality began to ROT

But I am now tired of hearing internal CRIES
so I have to go in and make peace with the VOICES

Fearless Fighters

~Fearless Fighters~

And there we have them
A team of believers
Who believed in our freedom

Dreamers who had faith
In there dreams
Brave warriors who knew the worth
Of United African Nations

Relentless freedom fighters
with great thirst for freedom
Fearless mothers and fathers
Who sacrificed much for their many children

Musicians
who sang against segregation
a multitude of Civilians
who were hungry for civilization

They faught in the rains
They faught in the Summers
Until all nations
At some point emerged winners

Though with great
shed of innocent human blood
They all fought with one spirit
One mind

Therefore on this special day
We stand as a people with on mind
To affirm that we shall protect and embrace
The history and culture
Our heroes wrote with their own blood

But this serves as a reminder
That our Victor's victory wasn't about winning a war
But uniting a people of different races and cultures
Preaching oneness though with different skin colours
WE ARE ONE

AFRICA FREEDOM DAY

Like a Chameleon

if you judge me by my physical LOOK
you would say I'm full PRETENCE
but if I gave you a chance to read my Journal BOOK
you'd realize am just full of PRUDENCE.

Don't mind me,
I live my life like a FAIRYTALE
an excuse of a story to TELL

Yes, I prefer to live like a CHAMELEON
hated and despised by MANY
knowing that life won't stop, it always will MOVE ON
as I keep loving my PERSONALITY

Sorry, I do not mean to be RUDE
but that's just who I AM
some say am full of boasting and PRIDE
well, what can I do, when I just try to be better than I AM

Some condemn the way I WALK
and most laugh that I am too SLOW
but I do not mind their laughter and TALK
cause I have my own laws to FOLLOW

to speak honestly and FRANKLY
am mostly found ALONE
cause most of the friends I have are not FRIENDLY
they are always weighing me DOWN

Get away from me if you're a PRETENDER
I want to be ALONE
don't force me to change my COLOUR
Just like a CHAMELEON

What If I Took Off My Mask

What if I took off my mask
would you love it still
to you see the face that hides
behind it

what if I showed you the real me
would you stand to comfort me
or would you just stand there
and only stare

what if I gave u my emotions
to feel how I feel,
would you stretch out your hand
and help me heal?

what if I gave you an opportunity
to see through my eyes
to visualize what I see
and your ears to hear what I hear
tell me would you still be here?

I bet you wouldn't
because behind this smiling mask
is a sad face
and swollen eyes
flooded with tears

behind this mask
is a face nobody wishes to see
a person nobody wishes to be
and the cries nobody wishes to hear
tell me, if I showed you the real me
would you still be here?
