Marshall Iftekhar Ahmed Poem
Talking about life.
Not about how beautiful it is
or how blessed we are,
not about how crafty it is,
in jamming its cruel knife.
Simply talking about life.
Not about what a masterstroke it is
or how amazingly it is decimated,
not about our love or spite.
Just talking about life.
Should i be obligated
or bring about my own knife?

Marshall Iftekhar Ahmed Poem
When you are under a full moon,
In the high midnight noon,
before the vastness of a village green field,
The air is still, a sudden chill,
and then you began to feel
“the silence”, all around you trill.
She is silent like that.
She is silent like the love-struck
staring at the stars in the sleeping city.
She is silent like the poet
about to recite his last elegy.
She is silent like the girl
opening her window to the dawn.
She is silent like the moment
for no reason we feel so alone.
So whenever I am near,
I touch the silence, which became so dear,
I seem to understand, but sadly not quite I fear!
so I softly utter,
Yes my Love! Silence is much Better.
And then sometimes
when she wears white, She is radiant as ever.
But the radiant words that I long for,
it is not allowed for me to desire.
Her hair dance dark & deep, curve & sway,
A peaceful breeze through the deep quiet forest.
Some pure moments the sun glistens through trees.
Thinks the traveler. “It is the place, I can take some rest”.
Should she ever tell, or be silent forever?
“Did she leave all her conversations behind her?”
Hurts of the past perhaps made us more of a stranger.
Then I console my heart of a futile searcher,
“If she thinks silence is golden! Then her silence is much better.”

Marshall Iftekhar Ahmed Poem
Put on your hat Paulette, put on your dress,
Put on your red shoes, happily dance away.
Light fires of joy, put out all of your stress.
Put on your hat Paulette, put on your dress,
wear your dreams and smiles, take this life as a bless.
Make your life a meaningful lovely ballet !
Put on your hat Paulette, put on your dress,
Put on your red shoes, happily dance away.

Marshall Iftekhar Ahmed Poem
Let's cross the river
let's cross the mountain
if we ever find an eternally glowing horizon
let us lay down our pains and speak again.

Marshall Iftekhar Ahmed Poem
Just when I wanted to... "Lord I beg,
fly me to the Londons Winnipegs."
Out came the Corona, its killer cold !
Said like a devil "you shut up and hold,
we don't need no trouble of the travelling legs."

Marshall Iftekhar Ahmed Poem
Who cares for peptic ulcer !
Who cares for migraine !
As lovely as you are,
one not falling in love with you
is nothing but insane !
But that insane i do want to be
head over heels,
be a forever lover of all your pain,
when will you have those eyes to see ?

Marshall Iftekhar Ahmed Poem
O' Bird how can I touch you, with hands that sinned so much
You are the Garden’s most Sacred Rose, only from afar I can watch
Unfortunate I, this world only kept me unworthy of you
Left me lonely in pain like the blue sea, and Saki unhappy as such.

Marshall Iftekhar Ahmed Poem
Most frightening of all the fires, is the fire that we call Human
It burns down the whole wide world, and Humanity also not forsaken
This fire that we call Human, is now the greatest creation of that kind
Where flowers never bloom in hearts, and love never gets awoken.

Marshall Iftekhar Ahmed Poem
Deep in your eyes when my gaze flies i feel,
Sometimes rain sometimes a river speaking.
Sometimes a night whispers something so still,
And feel someone a man like me seeking.
Over the years some of the stars faded.
Some of the doors meant to open stood shut.
Some hope and dreams lay by the streams jaded.
words that I bled screamed in her head, oh but !
The trees and wind tells me, "rescind, move on".
Memory pearls can't be hurled callously,
oh How can I, pierce a sad sky forlorn.
She's moonlight green gentle valley breezy.
Now She's a dove, clouds way above my soul,
flowers on dirt, her change of heart, will call.

Marshall Iftekhar Ahmed Poem
Every step
we learn.
Every step
we discover.
The things we never knew,
thought we would never know,
there it is !
Because we searched.
in amazement in front of us
was hidden all this time,
hidden only from those
uninterested.
But those among us
wanted
before we depart,
one more thing we learned,
one more step - we are
wiser. older.
