Dream Lover Boy

I dream of you most nights
The man I will only love,
A man with hair like soft waves,
but the color of a chocolate lab
Freckles scattered like the stars
And sea eyes that hide behind glasses

Oversized Star Wars shirt
Striped pajama pants
Musicals blasting through ear buds
Wind blowing hair out of his face
A paint brush in one hand and a pencil in another
room full of open windows
Comics and posters plastered on the walls
Paint splattered all around
Colors through the hair and glue stuck to the skin

I Feel Blue

I Feel Blue
October 27, 2021

	There is something inside
					-hurting-
A drop of blue in my heart,
Contagious to all around.

	A teardrop
			-resting-
Wondering why it's there,
Why does it even exist?

Questioning gives it life
Letting in panic -concern-
						-and regret.

	I feel blue inside,
This little droplet in my body.
Expanding up into my brain with every breath.

Day by day it gets worse
				-melancholy-
Taking control of life.
Building titanium walls.
It stayed strong for six years before the blue shrunk.

	I felt yellow
Like the world was finally right.
On a good path to find hope.

Yet today,

	Sitting in bed,
			-crying-
Questioning purpose of life,
And why does the world hate me?

Today I feel blue.

Thunder

*TW- Depression*

There is thunder outside
Rumbling on
Making loud noises,
Hurting my ears with the sound
Hurting my head.

There is thunder in my head
Rumbling on
Blocking up other thoughts
Causing frustration in my mind
Dark clouds giving gloomy emotions
Anger striking the ground
Followed by the loud noises
In my head.

Thoughts and opinions rolling around
Never a moment of quiet.
Intrusive thoughts striking at random times
Making sure you see
And hear them,
But only for a quick second.
Terrifying enough
You hold on for a long time.

You find no peace
In a thunderstorm
Especially one that is louder than a rock concert.
With lightning that blinds
Rain,
That is normally peaceful,
But it is harsh.

As it passes by
It goes away
And you pretend it never happened.
But The thunderstorm can come
At any time
Unseen and unheard of

Turning your life into a living hell.

Sometimes it's short
Sometimes it lasts for a long time.

At the end you hope
For a rainbow
As the sun comes out.

But some have learned to
Live in the storm
Letting the dark clouds
Scare them as they go about their day.
Their minds darkened
As the rain falls
On their face.

The Rainbow In the Storm

Screaming in your mind
No one to hear.
Wondering what is going on
Why the world is shut down?
Why are you out of school?
Why do you have no life?

A life that kept you from falling off,
				Falling off the bridge.

This bridge that kept you from the dark spot to take over your mind
Yet you had to sit at home.
					Alone
With only Netflix to keep reality off your mind,
		Or you would worry
			Worry about your parents,
						Friends,
							Grandparents,
And the future of the world.
Panic strikes as you think about the impending future,
And all you can do is wait inside-
-wishing the world would get better.

You finally reach the outside,
The comfort of fresh oxygen breathes into your lungs,
As the fire crackles in front of your eyes.
Sparkles of orange and yellow invite you to open your mind,
Friends sit around.
Telling the stories of past months.
				Trapped inside-
						-watching life grow darker.
Like you they struggled during this time.
Struggled as they watched their future fall down the drain.
Their hopes for a normal year.
		Hopes for a prom-
				Movie nights,
					And summer trips.
But instead you sat around the fire reminiscing.
Helping each other through the pain.
