Panic strikes as you think about the impending future, And all you can do is wait inside- -wishing the world would get better. You finally reach the outside, The comfort of fresh oxygen breathes into your lungs, As the fire crackles in front of your eyes. Sparkles of orange and yellow invite you to open your mind, Friends sit around. Telling the stories of past months. Trapped inside- -watching life grow darker. Like you they struggled during this time. Struggled as they watched their future fall down the drain. Their hopes for a normal year. Hopes for a prom- Movie nights, And summer trips.
