It's a beautiful day
when you are the first thing I see
The sun does not need to shine
The moon does not need to beam
If it's just you and me
It's a beautiful day
When the hours melt away like candles
A door does not need to open
A phone does not need to ring
If it's just you and me
It's a beautiful day
When we are cradling our children
They do not need to behave
They do not need to sleep
If it's just you and me
It's a beautiful day
When our children grow up
They do not need to be perfect
They do not need to have good jobs
If it's just you and me
And it was a beautiful life
when we watched our children and their children
A tear does not need to shed
A heart does not need to break
