Karianne Gabaldon Poem
My Name Is Schizophrenia
(Verse 1)
You shake, tremble and you quiver with fear
I’ve got hands upon you it’s the voices you hear
But relax, I’m your friend
Or you’d like to pretend
No hard feelings.
You breathe heavily and try to escape
But you know if you try then I just might end your fate
Hi I’m back with a gun
You get out, try to run
‘Til you’re bleeding.
(Chorus)
They call you the crazy guy
And I
I’m at fault.
They call you the crazy guy
And I
I’m at fault.
They call you the crazy guy
And I
I’m at fault.
I haunt your mind.
I haunt your mind.
(Verse 2)
I push you into canyons of wet
And you fall right into my dark oubliette
And you scream until there
Is a key you know where
I am hiding.
I’m out to get you, now go on and cry
But it won’t do you good, you’ll just sit there and die
I’m the mask, I’m the sword
You’re the witch, you’re the whore
And you now have that razor in your palms, there’s no use in hiding anymore.
(Chorus)
They call you the crazy guy
And I
I’m at fault.
They call you the crazy guy
And I
I’m at fault.
They call you the crazy guy
And I
I’m at fault.
I haunt your mind.

Correspondence
©? 2024 Karianne Gabaldon
(Verse 1)
It’s an itch impossible to scratch
Tears too unfeasible to cry
Skin too thick to bleed
A fabricator that just cannot lie
In a broken, haunted courtroom
The lawyer called this a case hard to crack
You had banged your gavel
I thought you always had my back
(Chorus)
And that’s the thing about correspondence
It takes away all you’ve had, it’s all too intense
Taken by Storm then caught in the eye
And you die, and you die, and you die
It’s all a lie
(Verse 2)
When the road hits a dead end
Who’s to say whose fault it was?
He won’t even be your friend
All the metal has turned to rust
Now you’re lovelorn but a legacy
Or at least you will be someday
Someone just might recognize
How long it took you to escape the maze
(Chorus)
And that’s the thing about correspondence
It takes away all you’ve had, it’s all too intense
Taken by Storm then caught in the eye
And you die, and you die, and you die
It’s all a lie
(Bridge)
Your vocal cords scream,
“Don’t you forget, do you remember
It was me who turned your heart tender
You were the insidious and traumatizing love of my life
Don’t you forget, do you remember
It was me who attained your September
You were the morbid, existential dreadful love of my life”
And you see it too
I would have lived life for you
But it’s all a lie
(End Chorus)
And that’s the thing about correspondence
It takes away all you’ve had, it’s all too intense
Taken by Storm then caught in the eye
And you die, and you die, and you die
It’s all a lie
And that’s the thing about correspondence
It takes away all you’ve had, it’s all too intense
Taken by Storm then caught in the eye
And you die, and you die, and you die
It’s all a lie
(Outro)
“Don’t you forget, do you remember
It was me who turned your heart tender
You were the insidious and traumatizing love of my life
Don’t you forget, do you remember
It was me who attained your September
You were the morbid, existential dreadful love of my life”
And you see it too
I would have lived life for you
But it’s all a lie

Karianne Gabaldon Poem
Where Have You Gone?
You someday that we might meet,
But now I might just choose defeat,
Lay my armor down right by my feet.
Our love it cannot be ignored,
You shut me out then slam the door,
You dry my drought and flood my downpour.
In your eyes I’m probably dead to you,
But to you I just cannot refuse,
To tell you that it’s you that I can’t lose.
And this is it, I’m standing here now,
Knocking at your door, but you’re out.
Where have you gone?
Where have you gone?
I need your honest eyes today,
Do you really mean what you say?
Where have you gone?
Where have you gone?
My heart it tells me to ignore,
All the feelings that are unsure,
Is it true, am I that of a bore?
Before you left with her, your heart was true,
Now yours is red and mine is blue,
I want you in my life, I just can’t lose you.
And then that silly feeling sinks in,
I think of that insatiable kiss.
Where have you gone?
Where have you gone?
My mother, should have listened to her,
I should have been much smarter, wiser.
Where have you gone?
Where have you gone?
