{spinning Wheel}

spinning wheel.
round, round.
hypnotizing.
never ending.
your mind bending.
spinning.
the wool turns to yarn.
from big to small.
transforming.
circles over circles
moving.
stand still.
spinning wheel.
simple minded.
complicated.
igneous.
calm the mind.
work the fingers.
smooth thread.
rough ramouillet.
round, round.
spinning wheel.

Moon-Lit Dancing

The blue rays of the moon above me
Shower me with hope of the surely stormy sea
And the shine help breaks through the darkness and lets me see
But the sight is nearly more that my heart can bear too be

All of them all holding hands in a linked circle feeling free
Their eyes lit up with images of only me
But I am not in the circle they’ve created
And from this fact no one seems the least bit agitated

A tear falls from my face, for the music I could never create
The haunting melody sings my lonely soul to sleep
But when I think it to much to bear
I open my eyes to see them all standing there

With their faces all lit up with happiness
It is so unusual to see such bliss
But they smile and grab my hand, leading me on
And they laugh at my confused smile that has grown

Guiding my footsteps until we reach the destination
The moon is still there, so no more contemplation
And the melody that has been haunting me through my mind
Finally escapes through the colorless keys I will find

My music carried them away to the place where I am
The darkness evaporated; there was no more sham
The giddiness overtook me and I too leapt up to dance
The feeling of the moon put us all into a trance

The creaky boards that made our shoes tap and click
Was as sure as the song that made our souls tick
And always I look to the moonlit sky for the joy of that dance
Wonder if it could again sweep me off for a chance

And one night it happened, so swiftly it came
And as I remembered it, it was all the same
They still laugh beneath the beautiful magnificence of the light
They dance in the moon; all through the dead of night

Shep and the Pup

Shep the pup was working the sheep;
He had to work hard to earn his keep.
Away, come bye, walk in; but never a scold,
Because he always did what he was told.

Keeping all the sheep safe from harm,
Watching the sheep from dusk til’ dawn,
When he did something good, he always knew
Because the master always said: “That’ll do”

The farmer’s wife made him special treats,
Biscuits and gravy; even better than sweets!
When one day a new pup came home and stayed,
Shep helped the young lad, and taught him the trade.

He taught how to move the sheep with just one try,
To balance and shed, but mainly to use the eye.
The master was so very impressed,
For the new pup learned fast, who would have guessed?

“The new pup is grand!” he would tell his wife,
He learns with ease, without trouble or strife.
Shep and the young pup fly,
Stayed together as man years went by.

You may hear people talk of the great Border collie,
Just know the best of all, was Shep and the puppy.

How We Play Soccer

{How we play soccer}

"Peyton!"
I call out, voice horse from all the yelling.
I left him for one minute, and he was gone!
Silly puppy, he doesn’t know what he's doing.
He just wants to run an play.
“Peyton!"
I call out once again.
Nothing.
I'm getting a bad feeling about this a really really bad feeling.
All would be lost if I lost him.
I would just lock myself in a room.
But Again I call out his name.
And again.
Nothing.
No rustling of leaves that tells me he's coming.
Just my heart, sinking.
And this stupid sore throat.
"Peyton!"
Still nothing.
Running down the road I trip and fall.
So I get up, not feeling the blood running down my face.
I search far and wide.
Always calling his name.
"Peyton!"
There's no where else to go.
I go back to the yard and grab my soccer ball.
I start kicking my frustration out .
Then I hear him.
"Peyton!'
I cry out his name with a different tone.
He smiles a doggy smile while jumping up on me.
I don't care about he mud this time.
I hold him tight.
He's fighting for freedom.
Released.
He looks at me, his eyes saying.
"Lets play soccer"
I agree.
But first he licks my face clean of the blood.
We play a good game.
But I know he let me win.

Robber.

The man of which I speak.
Is heartless, shallow yet meek,
Sly and has much wit.

The story begins at the birth.
He was a baby with no considered worth.
They told him quit talking, just sit.

Growing up, it just got worse.
His first crime was a stolen purse.
His parents never even realized it.

He vowed to get even,
For the life which he had been beaten
He told himself to never quit.

He is now a grown up man.
And he decides to make his biggest stand.
He makes his plans, eyebrows tightly knit.

Gathering his mask, bag, and gun,
He wants cash, he going out to get him some.
With no second thoughts or regret.

Nothing stopped him, for nothing could.
He was out to get his prize; even in cold blood.
Through shooting and screaming, the huge fit.

Walking away with his prize,
Disregarding all the lost lives.
Call it evil, call it selfishness, he is all of it.

Can-?

Can a blind man see?
Yes.
Can a deaf man hear?
Yes.
Can a mute man talk?
Yes.
Can you understand?
No.

Music Without Lyrics

I have a song stuck inside my head; and it won’t let anybody but me see it.
Believe me, I’ve tried and tried to make it come out.
It just says ‘No.” and crawls about.
I can’t put into words this feeling, this idea inside my mind.
When I finally gather up the bravery to try and coax it out,
it becomes a copy of another man’s genius.
I can’t force it, and neither will if flow.
It is a story I’ve tried to write over and over again,
but it gets lodged in my pen.
It clots on the paper, refusing to prove its existence.
But with that rebuttal, it also makes any creativity impossible.
It unsettles my thoughts, and mixes my dreams.
Wrinkling my mind, it creates a crack in my brain.
It is a crack that can only be filled with its music;
the music that refuses to come out.
And so I sit, writing all these complications from my mind,
hoping that maybe the song will slip out between the spaces.
My mind is too crammed with thoughts and ideas to embrace anymore lyric-less music.

Just Like That

A sticky side of tape always gets stuck.
A white piece of paper always gets written on.
A young heart always gets broken.
And just like that, you are gone.
