Lisa Fraser Poem
Beauty Abounds
Beauty abounds, and bursts of brilliant sun are born,
with the breaking day on this beautiful morn.
Beveled bark blooms buds of brightest green
bordered with berries and blossoms in between.
The balmy breeze blows baby's breath seeds,
into the brown and broken weeds.
A brook babbles between the sun-bathed banks
Bubbling and brewing and bringing thanks.
Downstream, as bluebirds begin to bathe in the bay
We breath in the bounty and the beauty, of this blessed day.

Lisa Fraser Poem
I don't care about tomorrow
I can't remember yesterday,
I don't know the last time that I didn't feel this way
I can't count the lonely nights
When I'm surrounded by myself
And the only friend to comfort me is the bottle on the shelf
I wonder how the hell I've gotten here
Where did I go wrong?
I can't help but think that I've been broken all along
I can't count the friends who've left
or the ones that are yet to go
Numbing the pain with mindlessness is all I have come to know
I haven't felt anything real for a long time
and hope is a distant memory
Still life continues to go on, it just continues without me
Hopeless, helpless, out of reach
Everyday's a fight
The blurry days are bad enough, even worse, the nights.
I am struggling for the answer
I am searching for the cure
I look for God to heal me with his love, free and pure
My mind, my soul, my family
Everything's at stake
I don't know how to make it right and fix all my mistakes
Help me, heal me, hear my prayer
I don't know what to do
I know I can't go on like this, I give myself to you
Waiting for a brighter day
Maybe tomorrow is the one
That darkness fades and shadows clear so
I can see the sun

I hide
I lied
I cried
I tried
I survived
I thrive

Lisa Fraser Poem
You are the gold when I sift through the sand
You are the bird I hold in my hand
You are my light when things start to look dark
You are my strength when I fall apart
You are my voice when I've lost the words
Your are my healing when everything hurts
Your are my music when I've lost the song
You set me right when I can't be more wrong
You are my beacon when I've lost my way
You are my reason to face one more day
You are my hope when all hope is lost
You set the value when I've forgotten the cost
You are my reason for being, when I don't want to "be"
You are my clarity when I am too blind to see

Lisa Fraser Poem
Dark dreams and troubled sleep
The morning birdsong makes me weep
How far I have fallen along the way
How do I face another day?
The sun will shine again, I know
But it only seems to rise to show
That nothing shines around me
It is only shadows that surround me

Lisa Fraser Poem
I Come with Fire
Once upon a time, we lived a fairy tale
Filled with love and laughter
Now the walls are crashing down
on our happily ever after
You proved you are a cheat
and I know you are a liar
Ill hold the flames to your feet
I will come with fire
You shove me around like it’s a pastime
But you’ve pulled me down for the last time
I know what you did and I know you’re a liar
I will track you down and I will come with fire
I come with fire
I come with heat
Ill hold the flames to your feet
I come with fire
Devour you in flame
Quit your cryin’
You’re the only one to blame
Don’t underestimate me
You always held me back from what I can be
I don’t want to make you mine
I just want you out this time
Now it’s time to make you pay
In a hundred different ways
I come with fire
I come with heat
Ill hold the flames to your feet
I come with fire
Devour you in flame
Quit your cryin’
You’re the only one to blame
I admit I bit off more than I can chew
But now I’ve had enough of you
It doesn’t matter what you’re saying
I know that you’ve been playing
Once I gave you all my trust
Before you ground our love to dust
I come with fire, pounding at your door
I come with fire, burning up the floor
I come with fire
I come with heat
Ill hold the flames to your feet
I come with fire
Devour you in flame
Quit your cryin’
You’re the only one to blame

Lisa Fraser Poem
Yesterday, I had everything,
The perfect house, the perfect ring
But I should have known
that you would go and leave me all alone
Fool me once, shame on you
You made me think that you’d be true
Fool me twice, shame on me
Because you’re the same you will always be
I can’t blame anybody else,
because I did it to myself
It’s my fault for letting you in
when I know where you’ve been
I can’t blame others for my tragedy
because I am my own worst enemy
I wish I never knew your name
But really I guess I’m to blame
For thinking that you’d ever change
I’m so good at self-sabotage
I do it all the time
Crazy is my camouflage.
Of the girl I left behind
I can’t blame anybody else,
because I did it to myself
It’s my fault for letting you in
when I know where you’ve been
I can’t blame others for my tragedy
because I am my own worst enemy
And then you strayed “just because”
And you made life worse than it ever was
Now I’m overguessing and overstressing
I should have run
I should have hid
After all the you did
It was just as everyone predicted,
But It doesn’t hurt less just because its self inflicted
I can’t blame anybody else,
because I did it to myself
It’s my fault for letting you in
when I know where you’ve been
I can’t blame others for my tragedy
because I am my own worst enemy

Lisa Fraser Poem
Last Man Standing
In my youth, strong and commanding,
I was proud to be the last man standing
They say pride goeth before a fall
But way back then, I had it all
All the good times, all the songs
You were the reason I sang along
All the road trips, all the fun
and start again when the day was done
I look back with no regret,
There is not a moment I will forget
Hand in hand through all our travels
Till daybreak comes and the dream unravels
You are my partner, you are my friend
And that part will never end
I carry you with me, your love is still here
And I am blessed to feel you near
And while I did what I could
To stay strong, and tough and good
still life became more demanding
Its hard to be the last man standing
So always, I hold your memory dear
But there are some who need me here
And so our memories will need to do,
Until the day I am back with you

Lisa Fraser Poem
When night falls to end the day,
I know some relief is on the way
For I had peace while I slept,
Although in my dreams I still wept
Loved ones close, have drifted away
and distance with ones who stayed
Strangers now help me cope
Sharing stories of recovery and hope
One day this will be in the past
One day I will make a promise that lasts
One day I will have a soul that is mine
But now I exist one day at a time

Lisa Fraser Poem
Red and white glory freely flies
Mapleleaf, strong and proud, framed by bright blue skies
From glacier fjord to mountain stream
Over fields of gold and trees of green
Nothing is more beautiful to see
Than that red maple leaf flying free
The simple flag is our greatest treasure,
Heralding a nation beyond measure
There is nothing I would rather be
than an honored member of this country
Under the threat of pen or gun
We stand together, under this flag, we are one
