Hal Richard Poem
You were my hero
and you weren't even perfect.
but you're my hero.

Hal Richard Poem
When you're born, so fresh, so new,
being an infant is easy to do.
Then you're a toddler, starting to walk,
starting to play, starting to talk.
On the way to school, happy and bold;
better be young before you get old.
Teenage years have temptations that are bad for the soul,
you cannot escape them, because they leave a hole.
Already married with kids and a spouse,
you have your own car, you have your own house.
Retired and lazy, you rock in your chair,
life's gone by quick; and so has your hair.
Down in the ground is where you now lay,
death is an adventure, you'll be okay.

Hal Richard Poem
"Who to turn to?"
Walking on a sidewalk
in downtown New Orleans.
Night is the worse time to be out.
A father coming from work,
a long day at the office, he just wants to be home.
In just a matter of minutes,
a life is taken during a drive-by.
A little boy, and his mother, wait at home.
Waiting for daddy to arrive,
so they can all have dinner.
An hour passes by.. two hours, then three.
Where is he? Did something happen?
As soon as she goes to call the police
a knock is pounding on the door.
"Hi, I'm Officer Williams. I'm afraid I have bad news."
She knew at that moment
that her life was over.
Her love, her best friend,
was gone.
Who will she turn to?
To talk to when she's got a problem,
to lean on when she needs a shoulder.
Who will she turn to?

Hal Richard Poem
So much good you've done in this world,
but never to do again.
And ever since you had to leave,
a new life you'll have to begin.
People will miss you
and people will cry,
but one thing people will never do
is ever say goodbye.
If sometime we were to meet for quid,
I would thank you for doing the things that you did.

Hal Richard Poem
Lights emanating
from the grim candelabras.
Specters are coming..
is it just a phantasm?
No, 'tis but some foliage.

Hal Richard Poem
You wait all your life
for a moment like this.
To be there for her,
and live a life with some bliss.
Walking down a busy street
in the heart of New York.
Seeing women walking by
but one gives you a feeling of torque.
They've warned you about a woman's love,
how others have made it torn.
She may look like a rose right now,
but watch out for the thorns.

Hal Richard Poem
"You would never be able to do that,"
they told you that one day.
But you won't be okay
if you don't get this, you say.
