Beauty In Pain

purified in the flame
cleansed in the rain
finding beauty in the pain

accepting the distain
of all that became
there's sincerity in shame

dim's the only pressing view
fog covers through and through
empty in the reach for you

breathing in a quaint defeat
the scent of hope's subtle retreat
familiar gloom sets on both feet

wounded spirit, rest once more
with mended wings in time you'll soar

crafted through divine weaving
these thoughts are just deceiving
your maker's form will hold
and once again you'll be made bold

purified in the flame
cleansed in the rain
finding beauty in the pain

Another Perspective

From earth's shore, the sun is more.
Without it's light, the day is night.

Yet it's the earth, in its obsession,
that orbits the sun as its possession.

Chasing warmth, gets pulled and spun
A losing game, that's not been fun.

But that defeat was subjective
being seen, from the wrong perspective.

The universe so vast and grand,
Fits in the palm of my father's hand.

The sun may be the center of the solar system,
but I belong to an eternal kingdom

Your Faithfulness Is My Fortress

Here again

My heart’s ink running through this pen

Angst beyond what I can take

Sorrow, impossible to break

In surrender and repentance, asking for a truce

Can't do it alone, and without you what’s the use?

I come to you Lord in my distress

Because your faithfulness is my fortress

Though my feet anchored my stay,

My heart and mind led me a stray

Chasing whims and momentary dreams

I lost the joy of my salvation,

Forgot your loving restoration

The smoke and mirrors show ended,

But what I tried to fix never mended

So here I sit, where truth and disappointment meet

Gathering the broken pieces, I seek your face

Bringing to mind your steadfast grace

With no strength left in me,

I’m overtaken by your divinity

Knowing my weary soul can rest

Because your faithfulness is my fortress

Overtly Overthinking

Exhaustedly engaged in a losing battle
Relentlessly rowing with a broken paddle

Constantly convincing the judge in my mind
Passionately pleading for the flaws I find

Dreadfully driven to explain my side as true
Willfully wanting to show my point of view

Quite quickly I'd free, if only I could,
this thralling need to be understood

The Fullness of Love

If time and distance did not exist

If competing priorities were all dismissed

If fear of rejection could not be found

If to human limitations I wasn’t bound

I could show you how much you mean to me

I would love you completely selflessly

But I am a part of a fallen creation

plagued with flaws and scars

these toxins hide the true dimension

of a love brighter than ten thousand starts

Its real today but far from its true splendor

Oh if only the fullness of my love I could render…

Then God whispered a truth to me about another great perk that waits –

The ability to love limitlessly is already part of our fates

To My Son

To my baby,

If only words could convey
the ebb and flows I face each day.
Weak in strength, as emotions overflow,
Even through the struggle,
It’s a joy to watch you grow.

For you, my dear, I would bear twice the strife,
If it would spare you some trouble in this fickle life.
I want to be a safe place for you to rest,
Where you can always feel loved, happy, and blessed.

But if you can sense my moments of sadness
or physical pains,
I pray you can also feel the love that sustains.

I won’t be perfect, though I'll always try,
And even if every day I cry,
Know there is courage behind my tears,
Faith that surpasses all my fears.
The Lord is with us, our constant guide.
In Him, our trust and hope abide.

Please don’t hold on to my sorrow or temper.
Let it be resilience and grace you remember.
Take the best of me, and make it your own,
I pray above all else, my love for you is always felt and known.

Siblings Bond

Sometimes it’s right to let tears fall,
To not “solution” through it all.
Some moments let us simply feel
The weight of loss, so deep and real.

My grief, it honors who you were,
A sign of love that will endure.
The proof of all you meant to me,
A bond that lasts eternally.

But I know you loved me just the same,
Not wanting grief to be my chain.
Your wisdom and your gentle smile
Remind me life is still worthwhile.

So until the day we reunite,
I’ll strive to shine a brighter light.
In gratitude of precious grace,
Live peaceful hope in God's embrace.

Though memories may come with tears,
I’ll cherish them throughout my years.
