This Christmas

I sat among boxes and gift wrap
and all I could do was cry,
'cause the thing I wanted most
this Christmas
was for someone I loved not to die.
But God took you for my Angel
so it just wasn’t meant to be,
now all that’s left of you here now
is Christmas in memories.
I’d give back all of these presents
if it would mean you’d still be here
without you there is no merry,
no feeling of holiday cheer.
Just this hole in my heart where
you once were,
the boxes with gifts empty now,
I’d give everything under this tree back
If You were could be here somehow,
But you’re not here so I’ll just pray
to the angel atop my tree
that one day we’ll be together
around this Christmas tree.

Our Best Year Ever

As 2019 comes to a close
it’s time to reflect and put away those
memories of good times and
sometimes bad,
memories of happy and
when we were sad.
To the future let’s look -
to a shiny, New Year,
full of hope and potential
of joy and good cheer.
We may even start the
New Year out broke,
but where there’s a future
there is always hope.
Hope for improvement
in our circumstances,
Hope for opportunity
and taking new chances.
There’s nothing that we
cannot achieve
if we hold onto hope and
in ourselves just believe.
So, for the year 2020,
my hope is for you
to reach your potential
in everything you do!
Let’s meet back here
in exactly one year
and share our successes
I can’t wait to hear!

I wish everyone a very successful and Happy New year!
