Watching Through a Glass Window

There are two people,
In this world,
You have the people,
Who live their lives,
To the fullest,
Or you have the people,
Who prefer to watch,

I am an observer,
I’m to scared,
To take risks,
To scared to make mistakes,
But watching has is perks,
You see how people change,
How they evolve their,
Lives around one moment,
You see glimpses of,
Happy and good lives,

The days pass quickly,
And the nights,
Pass even quicker,
For me,
That’s the best way to live.

Silent Struggles

Loneliness,
How can I describe it?
It’s not an illness,
But instead a feeling,
A feeling in which everyone experiences,

You need someone,
To help and to hold you up,
But for the majority,
Most people hug themselves,
Support themselves,

For some,
It’s hard to do it,
By yourself,
It’s hard,
To be alone,

This is true loneliness,
When you want,
Someone there,
But find yourself,
Alone each night,
Wishing someone would care,

Loneliness is hard,
It’s takes time to overcome,
And you can’t do it alone,
But once you find that,
Trusted someone,
You’ll feel as though,
Everything will be okay,
Because in truth,
You’ll be okay.

I would love to win as I wrote this poem based from my feeling and thoughts. I struggle with mental illness and poetry has been my way to distract myself from reality. This is my first time letting people read my poems and it would mean the world to me if someone thought it was first place worthy!

What It Feels Like To Be Free

birds tweeting,
wind whistling,
mud trekking,

I've forgotten what,
it means to be free,

one lane roads,
windows rolled down,
music unbearably loud,

I've forgotten how,
i missed this.

Why Didn'T You Care

Words hurt
They can trip me up
Whilst leaving me to
Pick up the last of
My pride
Over time I have become
Used to the hatred and
To the lies
But that doesn’t mean
That I wasn’t still
Affected by them
Once these words were said
I couldn’t ignore them
And once I heard those words
I couldn’t forget and I
Definitely couldn’t forgive
I would replay the scene
Over and over
While falling down the
Spiral of self hate
Again and again
Until I realised that I was
On my own with no one to
Talk to and no where to go
The only thing I could grasp
Was my constant
Urge to die
So why did you say it?
Why didn’t you care?

My Stalker

Imagine him,
As a dark,
Shadowy figure,
Who follows you around,
All day,
Every day,

He controls,
Your every move,
And every thought,

You can’t run from him,
Nor can you hide,
No matter what you do,
He will always come,
Will always be,
Lurking in the shadows,

Whether it’s at night,
Or if your surrounded with people,
He will be there,
Waiting.

Healing

We danced in twos,
Or even threes,
Smiling from,
Ear to ear,
Skipping from,
Here to there,
Across the bridge,
Of heartbreak,
Down the path,
Of pain,
Hands linked,
We were finally together,
“Last call for lonely hearts!”
We sang as we entered,
The open gates which led us,
To our happiness,
To our freedom.
