Silent Struggles

Loneliness, How can I describe it? It’s not an illness, But instead a feeling, A feeling in which everyone experiences, You need someone, To help and to hold you up, But for the majority, Most people hug themselves, Support themselves, For some, It’s hard to do it, By yourself, It’s hard, To be alone, This is true loneliness, When you want, Someone there, But find yourself, Alone each night, Wishing someone would care, Loneliness is hard, It’s takes time to overcome, And you can’t do it alone, But once you find that, Trusted someone, You’ll feel as though, Everything will be okay, Because in truth, You’ll be okay. I would love to win as I wrote this poem based from my feeling and thoughts. I struggle with mental illness and poetry has been my way to distract myself from reality. This is my first time letting people read my poems and it would mean the world to me if someone thought it was first place worthy!
