John Kristopher Mathis Poem
I do not love you and I never will
Your face and lines read like a book from hell
You stamp out the light from the stars above
And proceed to consume the souls of love
I refuse to concede to all your whims
By grace I escaped in the knick of time

John Kristopher Mathis Poem
Standing naked in front of the mirror
Trying so hard to find the zipper on this costume
This fat suit!
This skin I'm forced to live in
So I can, finally, step out and set down
The burdens of the sins that my skin has committed
I look at my reflection in the eyes
"I really don't hate you - I just need space"
I need space from the very "thing" that I myself created
The fat little greed monster that eats attention like a snack cake
The same pathetic whore that confuses lustful affection for a tender, loving, heartfelt embrace
The very same ugly troll standing naked in front of the mirror

John Kristopher Mathis Poem
Lay with me on the grassy hillside
Tell me everything your heart hides
Amidst the wildflowers in the meadows
Kiss me softly with innocent restraint
Let's play games in the fields together
And soak up the sun until he gets tired
As the day begins to close and the moons starts to rise
Whisper your love under the cover of darkness
Then sleep with ease and be at peace
For tomorrow, we will live this dream again

John Kristopher Mathis Poem
I thought I felt your touch on me again
The ghost of distant memories returned
Returned to look me in the eyes and prove
That I'll never really be over you
And with the shock the phantom touch brought me
Arrived the frost a lonely heart runs from
