Pig Pen

Standing naked in front of the mirror Trying so hard to find the zipper on this costume This fat suit! This skin I'm forced to live in So I can, finally, step out and set down The burdens of the sins that my skin has committed I look at my reflection in the eyes "I really don't hate you - I just need space" I need space from the very "thing" that I myself created The fat little greed monster that eats attention like a snack cake The same pathetic whore that confuses lustful affection for a tender, loving, heartfelt embrace The very same ugly troll standing naked in front of the mirror

- Writing poems can make weeds become the most beautiful rose, John :) - Set goals that are realistic ... small steps gradually become big ... :) - You have brought light to a topic that many struggle with, very well written :) - Welcome to P-Soup :) - hugs // Anne-Lise :)

Whoa! I can feel the pain in front of that mirror (which doesn't lie),... and it even resonates, as I have my own 'pig pen' to deal with. Here's to a slimmed-down pen! Best wishes and welcome to Poetry Soup! ~ Gershon
