Be Kind

Why are some people so keen
To be so mean

Why not be nice
What cost the price

Do you need to be so rough
Are you so tough

Say something kind
It will ease your mind

Do a good act
It will come right back, fact

Spread a little joy
It is like a fun toy

Have a little compassion
It is something not to ration

Love each other
We are sister and brother

Coronavirus Covid-19

Fear fear fear
No more I want to hear
It is getting too much for many its clear

Test tests tests
The more you look the more you find
This is something that is not kind

Media dream
Frightening people
It would seem

We are in a war
Worldwide
Many run and hide

Where did this start
When will this end
On who will we depend

Pray pray pray
That is what I say
To get you through the day

Irish Coffee

Inviting drink
Requires time I think
Intoxicating taste lets not waste
Smooth cream
Helps it go down like a dream

Coffee and whiskey
Outrageously risky
Fire on the taste buds and
Furnace in the tummy
Exceptionally yummy
Eire's elixir wow what a mixture

Dublin

Dublin is Irelands capital city
On the river Liffey
It is at the seashore
With mountains galore

Viking settlement
With many more to come
Bringing changes
Throughout the ages

Diverse and welcoming
Humorous and serious
Dubh Linn meaning Black Pool to those in the know
Continues to grow

Home to many
Workplace for some
It is never hum drum

To those who have never been
There is so much unseen
Including our forty shades of green

A Day Off

What is happening
How can this be
I am having a day off just for me

This was not accidental
I looked and planned
The calendar I scanned

But now it is here
The freedom I feel
I nearly want to do a cartwheel

Where will we go
I think I know
Out to the sea
Oh what glee

Off on the train
Weather forecast says it will rain
I don't care
Just get me some sea air

Breezy sea wind
Cutting and biting
This will be exciting

Coffee and cakes are part of the treat
We can sit and eat
New people and experiences we will meet

At the end of the day
Uplifted and happy
Satisfied and thrilled
Home we will go
To the routine we know

A day off

A Lovely Little Dog

Wonderfully
Intentionally
Lavishes

On
Walkers

Mr Virus

Mr Vius
How you tire us
Chopping and changing
Disarranging

Loves ones gone
Suffering goes on
What a painful year
But still you are here

Vaccines on offer
But are they all they proffer
Time will tell
The truth will ring its bell

Mankind must look at itself
Good intentions take them off the shelf
We need to change our behaviour
Caring and sharing should be the flavour

Mr Virus you are still hanging around
Your bad intentions abound
From where did you come
From evil meddling say some

Happiness

What a gift this is
Available to all

Waiting for the taking
Why wait
Just take

Experience the bliss
Feel the euphoria
And fly away

Stray Cat

I looked out my window
and there to my surprise
was a beautiful set of green eyes
These eyes were in a glossy black face
With exquisite features that sent my heart at quite a pace

Sleek black body from tip to toe
How I managed to look away I do not know

Agile hunting movements
That transfixed my stare
Sharp teeth and claws
Hidden in soft mouth and paws

This encounter became a regular event
Meowing and purring were her calling card
To let us know she was in the backyard

We called her Beauty
And that's what she was
Charming and beguiling
Exciting and delighting

Then one day this feline friend
On us did no more decend
Where did she go we do not know
What can we do
Except remember and continue to enjoy the view

Beauty

Interpretation

I said something the other day
In quite an innocent way
A throw away comment
Said in the moment

I knew by their face
It had gone to a different place
Their expression had changed
From serious to delirious

How it got there
Is anyones guess

Laughing and smiling
Giggling and grinning
Oh my goodness
This was only the beginning

Lets not details discuss
It would create too much fuss

Try as I might
To put it right
The damage was done
Their thoughts were on the run

Misinterpretation
