Deliverabeth Moore Poem
Bound by chains……
Bound by chains then,
Chains bind us now,
It has taken away from our life style,
And the means to know how,
Bound by chains,
You have locked away our fathers,
Stolen the bodies of my people’s women,
Yet still to take it further,
Bound by chains,
Our kids continue to drop out of school,
Have my people killing one another,
That is not cool,
Bound by chains,
What is old let die?
Chains bound us then,
Today only in our minds,
Bound by chains,
I say no not “I”,
Thanks to those who paid the price,
Today I let loose of those chains,
That had my life and mind bound,
Throughout writing this poem something better was found,
Freedom.

Deliverabeth Moore Poem
I Said A Prayer Today….
I said a prayer today
But I didn’t know where to start
I asked the Lord to guide me, strengthen me
As well as heal my heart
From all of my worldly sins and crimes
Forgive me for being the reason my son doesn’t understand that he’s truly mine
I don’t know where I went wrong
Or maybe I do but I’m just in denial
Is there Hope for me Oh! Lord to change my life right now
I said a prayer today
In confidentiality alone in my room
But since I chose to write it down on paper
It’s my testimony to you

Deliverabeth Moore Poem
Two peas in a pod…..
Two peas in a pod,
There they are one after another,
She whispers in his ear,
While he covers the other,
Two peas in a pod,
She mimics his every move,
Playing games “I win you lose”,
As if, they both have something to prove,
Two peas in a pod,
I am telling mom,
I can swear they have a love hate relationship,
What happen to my parenting guide or 24 hour hotline tip?
Two peas in a pod,
They will forever be together,
Plotting and planning to do whatever,
A terror for most,
For me a blessing,
My kids

Deliverabeth Moore Poem
Money….
What can you do with money?
Well let’s stop and think; Money can buy you all the stilettos or marble sinks
A new Bentley fully chromed and tricked out
With the rims sitting 26 inches and you’re wondering what the fuss is about
People are stealing your rims and all you seem to do is replace them
Money can buy you all your hearts desire
From expensive wigs, weaves, clothes,
To cell phones, booze, and whose
There is nothing good that comes from money
Gambling it all away loosing is never funny
They say money makes the world go round
But all I’ve found is the world to be upside down
I am discussed and dismayed with money today
Money always seem to find a way to send you to an early grave
Money will forever remain the root of all evil
For those who love, the money making believers

Deliverabeth Moore Poem
I lost touch……
I lost touch, but still I hold you dear,
It astonishes me how you are far away but still so near,
To fall in love over and over again,
Not just with the memory of your voice,
But the fabric of your bronze skin,
There are times that I can vividly see every detail of your face,
I can still hear those love songs that took us to another place,
I lost touch, but still I hold you dear,
It astonishes me how you are far away but still so near,
The thought of you brings me peace of mind,
The day you left, I lost more than just my mind,
I lost a friend, a love, and died inside at the same time,
You probably will never understand what it done to me,
Filling void after void was my only escape to feeling free,
I did hear voice and I did see your face,
I thank you for bringing me back to that very place called “love”,
I lost touch, but I still hold you dear,
It astonishes me how you are far away but still so near.

Deliverabeth Moore Poem
Suspended tag…
Look at me just riding around trying to look cool
Have you ever had the suspended tag blues?
That’s when your suppose to keep the car parked
But me I just wait to do anything till after dark
Each street or corner I turn I’m dodging the cops
Making sure to be quick and swift at every stop
There comes a time when you’ll see the blue lights
Or maybe little men far away in uniform on bikes
Now you get pull over for having a suspended tag
Little did you know that joy ride wouldn’t last?
Judge please, please let me plead my case
I never knew my tag was suspended in the first place
The judge said you haven’t been paying your insurance bill
Come on Mrs. Moore be for real
Well can I take you out to eat?
Mrs. Moore are you trying to bribe me
No sir judge not me
Well in that case $500 your fee

Deliverabeth Moore Poem
MY Wedding ….
Time has come I promise to cherish it
This special moment here and now
Never have I experienced love as good as this
No where, no place, no how
God brought us together to love, cherish, and hold
To be yours, you mine and together we’ll grow old
No matter what we’re going through in this lifetime
Just know the lord must have heard my plea
Yes! It was you all along the outcome of the blueprint he especially
Designed for me

Deliverabeth Moore Poem
Who Am I really……
Who am I really?
Who am I to you?
Years of being alone in the world,
What am I to do?
Who am I really?
Did you think I hold the clue?
Believe me if I did I wouldn’t be trying to get it from you,
Who am I really?
I’d like think I know,
But my identity is buried deep down below,
Underneath all those skeletons,
You know where family secrets lie,
Some of whom are still living,
And others already died.
Who am I really?
Life for me have been a mystery,
A twisted tale of memories,
Dangerously not a friend to me,
Taunting me inside,
So tell who I am really.

Deliverabeth Moore Poem
Tired of Bush….
The government has gone mad
Bush doesn’t think about me
Especially not America, that’s sad to see
I have needs, my kids do too
Trying to get affordable healthcare isn’t easy to do
You’ve gone up on gas
The prices are starting to be an eye sore
It’s a shame that the government remains rich and the world poor
When will it be our time for change?
Or maybe even something better
Being that I’m a tax payer, I don’t intend to wait forever
So what say you?
What say we
It’s time to get Bush out of office
And put Obama in his seat
