A Glimpse

Never will I have a flawless body
Or be a beauty queen
I am just who I am
What you get is what you've seen

I eat when I am bored
I get jealous as easily as hell
If you ask me to dispense my secrets
I might not be quick to tell

I am sensitive beyond measure
Even though, I keep plenty in
I conceal most of my anger
I'm not the devil but I do sin

Sometimes I get neglectful
I know how to make a mess
But if you ask me to be great
I'll give you nothing less

I hate to be alone
Nightmares get me when awake
Sometimes making it through the day alive
Is more than I can take

I am deeply serious
Yet, I do know how to have fun
I'll procrastinate like crazy
If important, I'll get it done

I believe in God and heaven
I've played with death multitude times
I hide behind numberless masks
Caught in a play without the lines

I love to think of you
A calm spirit in a chaotic universe
My life has changed within meeting you
My heart beats to a broken verse

I don't handle rejection
Even if it is real or in my head
I am beyond gullible then you can imagine
Many lies I have been feed

I have the worst mood swings
I change in the blink of an eye
One moment I am happy, the next sad
I hate it when I can't cry

My strongest fear is abandonment
Therefore, when people get close, I push them away
All I ask is for you to have patience
The light will come within the day

I will always give 100%
It is the best that I can do
In life as well as my heart
I am a woman who loves you

A Girl, a Woman

I am a girl, a woman
I am strong even when I break
I cry, laugh, yell and smile
Just like you, I’m human
I’ve been through hell
Yet, I made it out…alive
I fight through the dark days
Sailing past the bright ones
I wonder about the simple concepts
I ask questions that have no answers
I fought the odds
Dead set against me
I won

I am a person
I have seen tragedy
With it, hope and joy
I have been through so much in 22 years
Then one person should ever see
I am a survivor, a victim
I stared death in the face
I walked away

I’ve loved and lost
Dreamed yet failed
Succeed even if it is not enough
I have scars, inside and out
I am not ashamed
It is who I am

A girl, a woman
Strong, a fighter
I cry, smile, laugh and yell
I am human, not perfect
A child of God’s love
One of his many angels
Lost on this hate filled earth
Just a girl, a woman
Trying to stay alive
In this harsh existence today

The Fight For Life

Longing for a desirable tomorrow
A tomorrow that may never arrive
Sadness shreds into the core of my existence
Stripping me of all faith
Faith of a tomorrow that becomes balanced
Attempting to climb through this thick, smoky haze
A fog is suffocating my forsaken soul
All hope is stolen from the shadows of my sanity
I struggle to attack this bleak somber
Falsely believing I can achieve this goal
To win against this losing battle
The battle to live

Hope

Hope
A glistening star
Twinkling in my eye
It brings light on my darkest day
Shinning into the depth of my soul
Reminding me
It will be okay
Sometimes things are not as terrible
As they may seem
Hope brings strength
Strength on days when there is nothing left
I find joy
Joy in my heartbreaking tears
All with one thing
We all have inside
Hope

There Is Me

The troubles that lay
No one person wishes to see
Look further than the broken smiles
Inside this bitter end
There is me

Lost children dance on hollow graves
No longer are we free
Spirits calm inside tired souls
Monday through Thursday
There is me

A mask concealing all that is honest
Hidden deep within our Willow tree
A mistaken smile for the genetic branch
Forsaken for our verbal bleed
There is me

A problem within society
Unwanted by birth, never carefree
Have hope my lost children
Broken dreams will not become forever
Someone is there
There is me

Sad Good-Byes

Good-bye is not forever
Just a promise of the past
As I look to the future
All I see is what happened last

Tears come at first
Soon things may turn well
Yet it still hurts
An on going hell

Some thing else comes
To pass this time
I will still never forget
You were once mine

Barricade

Obstruction of emotions
No one can see
This person i crawl into
Hidden inside, it is me

A mental paralysis
Locked behind something carefree
See a true emotion
Invisible is the key

A psychological blockage
Shutting everyone out i please
To feel the pain, unheard of
A midnight summer breeze

To barricade all sensations
Good and bad aside
I resort to secrets
Holding in these tears i cried

An obstruction of all emotions
No one dares to see
This person i crawl into
Hidden inside, it is me
