Not Today

I shall comb the tangles from my hair
But not today
I shall wash the smell of death away
But not today
For today I sit in disbelief
I sit with overwhelming grief
One day I may accept you’re gone
But not today
I shall find peace within my heart
But not today
I shall find light within my soul
But not today
For today I sit alone and cry
I sit and weep as time ticks by
One day I’ll take a walk outside
But not today
I shall greet the morning with a smile
But not today
Enjoy life for a while
But not today
For today I sit with head in hands
Trying hard to understand
One day I’ll work on my life’s plan
But not today

Homeless

For the lonely man I cry
For the sadness in his eyes
For the pain he holds inside
And the life passing him by
For the broken man I ache
For a soul darkened by fate
For the love he did forsake
And the choices he did make
For the homeless man I pray
I pray he finds his way
And feels happiness one day
Before it is too late

Through Your Pain I Suffer

I love you more each passing day
And through your pain I suffer
For your wellness I do pray
For me there is no other
I’ll stand by you
Lay beside you
Wipe away your tears
I’ll adore you
Be here for you
Always hold you dear
I’ll keep you safe, I’ll keep you warm
I’ll be with you as each day dawns
I’ll treasure every moment left with you
I’ll love you til the end of time
And gladly give all that is mine
To have a little extra time with you
I pray today is not the day
The angels carry you away
There’s still so much I need to say to you
I wish you did not have to leave
I wish you could stay here with me
Together til eternity
Is how it’s meant to be

When Love Turns To Fear

When love turns to fear
And joy turns to tears
Where do you go
When happiness fades
And loneliness reigns
Where do you go
Do you go to that place
Where your world’s full of hate
Where you hide from the pain that’s inside
Do you go to that place
The brink of hell’s gate
Drunk and stoned out of your mind
Do you go in frustration
In hope of escaping
That which has shattered your world
Do you go in confusion
A state of delusion
Living a life that’s surreal
Do you go there knowing
The road you are following
Leads only to anguish and pain
Do you go there knowing
The fate once befallen
Will be yours to bare yet again
When joy turns to sorrow
And you dread each tomorrow
Where do you go

How Many Times Can a Heart Break

How many times can a heart break
Before it turns to stone
How when you have cried for days
Can the tears still come
How many disappointments can you take
How many sacrifices can you make
How many times can you kneel and pray
Before you lose all faith
How can you let go
Without losing your soul
Without feeling to blame
Without going insane
How many times can a heart break
How many tears can one cry
How many dark days can one soul take
Before it’s returned to the sky
