Not Today

I shall comb the tangles from my hair But not today I shall wash the smell of death away But not today For today I sit in disbelief I sit with overwhelming grief One day I may accept you’re gone But not today I shall find peace within my heart But not today I shall find light within my soul But not today For today I sit alone and cry I sit and weep as time ticks by One day I’ll take a walk outside But not today I shall greet the morning with a smile But not today Enjoy life for a while But not today For today I sit with head in hands Trying hard to understand One day I’ll work on my life’s plan But not today
