Anxiety Ii

Arms shake at my side
My heart ready to explode
Why? I cannot say.

The Tap

The Tap
Drips
Into the polished ceramic bowl
Echoing
Through the
Paper walls
We should fix it
But it doesn’t seem to be hurting anyone.

The bowl is half full
Filled with murky white water
I glimpse at my reflection
A distorted white beast stares back
The tap continues to drip
We should fix it
But it doesn’t seem to be hurting anyone.

The bowl is full
Filled to the brim with jet black water
I glimpse into the water
But nothing reflects
No light escapes the darkness
The tap drips
We should fix it
But it doesn't seem to be hurting anyone.

Overflow
The paper walls dissolve
What was once structure turns into
Rubble
Nothing but pulp remains
We should have fixed it.
But it didn't seem to be hurting anybody.

Anxiety Iv

Pill bottles
Line kitchen counters
A daily
Ritual
Some things are much different now
Someday I’ll be fine

Forgotten Youth

We are the forgotten youth
Our forests burned
Our oceans warm
We drink from the water hole
Polluted with filth of day before

We are the forgotten youth
We live our days in the shadows of the past
Our villages are built upon the remains of a civilization that once was
We were lost.
But we rebuild.

We are the forgotten youth
Fed false truths for years
And we believed without question

We are the forgotten youth
Our mouths bitter with the taste of betrayal
We were naive, not anymore
But now it's too late

We are the forgotten youth
The sun rises on our backs
We prepare for another day in hell.
Silently.

Nothing

Nothing
Can replace
The feeling of
Their soft cheek
Pressed against mine
Our faces
Puzzle pieces
Laid out
On a cosmic game table

Nothing
Can replace
The good mornings and
Good nights
Tinted pink
Like a ripe peach
Resting on a summer beach
Glistening

Nothing
Can replace
The cold touch of concrete
Pressed against our backs
Staring into the distant sparkles
Soft music taking us down
A celestial river

Nothing
Can replace
The times I lose myself
In the deep coffee oceans
Gleaming
Under fairy lights

Nothing
Can replace
Them.

Anxiety I

Struggling to breathe
On dry land
Butterflies in my stomach
Yet I don't remember eating caterpillars
A cold sweat
Runs down my back
Everything is okay…
Right?

Anxiety Iii

Waiting
Days slowly pass
Weeks turn to months
Finally it’s time
Deliverance?
