Perfection

Torn by the lies of the past
Of the future
Of the present
Shredded by the mocking faces
But I wanted to love
To be held with such care
But to dare
To fail once more
To open that door
The door of Phobos
The door of fear
The door barred over and over again
In order to save
But
I cower at the faces
Of my oppressors
That speak such sweet words
With such malice
So callous
To all that stand from their own
That are not branded by the mark of stereotypical life
Yet
I revere this brand
This brand of fitting in
Fitting in to an unknown culture of Atlantis
People that are ignorant of their bonds
That believe that hold the throne
With jeweled scepter in hand
But shackles hold them
Tighter
But shackles forged by fear
Hold me here
Unable to escape unless I gain the virtue
Held dear by all women
Confidence
To stand apart
To believe
To love
Confidence
The throne bejeweled with sapphires and emeralds and diamonds
My throne has been burned to ash
By the oppressors
Yet the oppressed
Oppressed by the weight of fitting with the crowd
In synchrony
Controlled by a single idol of perfection
A idol that haunts and tortures
That is king over all else that
I fear
I want
To be a clone of this perfection
But
Have intelligence
Have kindness
Have no fear
Be Divergent
My head is warring at the beauty and yet horror
Giving up myself
For a lifetime of imprisonment
Shackling my thoughts
To follow the yellow brick road
Where I prosper in the reflected light of my oppressors
Till the day I die
I will lie in a bed of marigolds
With silver chains adorned on my arms
Chaining me
I will be beautiful
I will be imprisoned
To the whims and thoughts of
The idol
Of perfection
Instead of cowering
Door barred
Yet
If I went out that door
Embraced the light
Embraced the pain of love
The pain of the world
I would be free if I had one thing
Confidence
Confidence to love
Confidence to want more
Confidence to open the door
The door that imprisons me
That is my king
That has taken the place of my throne
That I have given all tribute to
A prisoner of Fear
Shackled by all my faults
Yet
A prisoner of fear
Hold dear the only riches of hope
That love comes to greet me
That love holds me as a beloved
Hope
Empowers
Strengthens
Sparks
Confidence
I stand
Hope pushing me
You can no longer hold me here
Where I have been imprisoned
By fear
Chains fall away
Fingers brush the faults away
Open
Finally
Rays of light welcome me
Floating without fear
Without sin
With hope

Encore

Encore

Cold metal touches my lips
Breathe
Fingers extend
Breathe
Chatter from the audience
Fills my ears
Breathe
Lights from above
Blind me
Breathe
Baton
Moves up
Breathe
Up
Down
Breathe
Tempo
Dit-Dit-Dit
Breathe
Drums sneer at me
Breathe
An explosion
Of sound
Fills the ears
Breathe
A harmony
A symphony
Breathe
Tubas
Low and booming
Breathe
Trombones and Trumpets
Extending each
Note with ethereal beauty
Breathe
Clarinets
Blessing the note
With delicacy
Breathe
Flutes
An island of paradise
Enters with the grace
Of a dove
Breathe
Swooning
At the pitched
Mountain of sound
Breathe
Waves
Hit the audience
With the delicacy of a mother
Breathe
Enveloping them
With the evolving mood
Ominous
To Joyous
Crescendo
Breathe
Clapping booms
In my ears
Stamping of feet
Deafening
Yet craved
Yet beloved
Baton rises
Once more
Once again
Symphony
Overwhelms
All thoughts
All emotion
Breathe

Young Lights

Love blinds
Blinds us to imperfection
A sinner turned a saint in our eyes
What once was ghastly
Is now flawless
In our eyes
Clouded by love
Veiled by love
It overwhelms our being
Our soul
Our sin
Our love twists
And turns
To have beauty
That is blinded
That is not bound by our oppressors
Our shackles have been released
By love
That is not ruled
By tyranny
By hate
By sadness
But
By passion
By friendship
By love
Phobos has released his hold
On me
You have stolen
Stolen
Taken
Looted
My sight
My heart
My strength
All
Is slave to you
You
In all perfection
In all beauty
In all discord
But
Time is master to us all
That forsakes me
On my quest
By
Stealing him
His beauty
His heart
His compassion
Death
You have forsaken my heart
You have taken all
Of Me
Of him
All that stays
Is his cold hand
Eyes of many different colors
Deadened
By the cold hands of death
All buried
Surrounded by posies
Blessing of the world
Has left to heaven
Angels sing him
Sing my love letters
Sing my compassion
My love
Please
Stay with me
Your breath upon my door
A quick stolen kiss behind velvet
Instrument playing your love
All
All of it gone
Disappeared
Veiled from memory
All a story
Please
Stay with me
You behind me
Your diamonds adorning my hand
You in the future
Till
When
Time lets us join
By bonded in the clouds
I will always rever
Rever the moments
Moments of young love
Of humor
Hiding the affection
Hiding the attention
Please
Stay with me
Guide me
Love me
Teach me
All of the moments when it is
Fear and Hate
Embracing me
Please
Stay with me
Forevermore
Where Death cannot break
Bonds of young love
Bonds empowered
By truth
By compassion
Please
Stay with me
Throughout it all
We
We will be together
Death will not be our king
But
We will
Love overcomes all
Please
Stay with me!

A Lover's Goodbye

Flashing lights
Shining against my skin
Red and Blue
Noise deafening
Close the eyes to escape such fears
Shadows have overtaken me
Drifting desperate to escape
Please
Please take me
Sinking underwater
Thrashing against
The frozen touch
Of the drowned
Faces
So many Faces
All of the past
All of the present
Please
Silence
At last
Drifting with no goal
Please
Drifting with despair tearing at my heart
Please
Thoughts flood
Overwhelming delicately
Please
Sweet taste of vanilla
Freezing my mouth
As rain jumps on my skin
Please
A note bringing tidings
Of my lover’s feelings
Please
Despair at the cold hand
Of a silver haired beauty
Closed and Imprisoned
Please
Underwater
Seeing the rainbow
Of fish flutter by
Please
Bubbles passing above
Please
A hug of love
By family bonded by desperation
After a devastating fit of insanity
Please
One,Two,Three
Dejection, Death, Despair
One, Two, Three
Happiness, Intimacy, Endearment
One, Two, Three
Abandonment, Violence, Destruction
One, Two, Three
Touches, Kisses, Embraces
All gone
At one slip
Please
Hands swarm around
Pulling my limp body
I embrace them as friends
Time has run out
Death has taken
Souls of the night
Please

Inferno

Thanatos comes, Thanatos goes
Leaving me
But taking my love
Taking my freedom
Taking my identity
Leaving me riches beyond the imagination of Hades
But reaped me of all that I hold dear
Leaving me to grope for a hand that doesn’t let go
Leaving me falling forevermore
Taking my identity
But I will rise as a great fire
Raging across their perfection
Rid of the parasites of those brave enough
To stand up to their tyranny
But waves crash
Overpowering the poor souls
Taking my identity
Pressing them to liquify to become one with them
Who torture
Who embrace with a knife in hand
Taking my identity
Claiming they save
But perfection is what they crave
To rid the world of those with immunity
To their waves of loathing
Taking my identity
But I will rise
As a raging fire
That frees the imprisoned brave
That frees the identities
Imprisoned by the nymphs
Phobos’ grip let free
Those of brave heart
Phobos let free
Those of intelligence
Trance of surrender set free
Raging fire
Embrace them
Imprison Fear
Melt the chains of Phobos
Of fear
Raging fire has overwhelmed me
Set me free
Of my captors
That stole my identity
That enchanted me with their idea of perfection
Of justice
Of love
Of calm
Raging fire
Burn away the shells of us
That we have become at the tyranny of the water
Raging fire
Freed
Calm that once enchanted
Has been set to passion
A raging fire
Inferno
Has set us free of their tyranny

Ballad of the Hollows

Woe the few brave
That fear cowered behind
Waiting to deprave
Till shots rung
Viewed as the addled
We are engulfed
We are only
The silhouette of our substance
We have been formed crudely
By the circumscribe of tyrants
But we will not be deterred
The restrictors will not dilute the glory
Of those few brave who rebuked
our transgressors
We are caged
Like animals we stalk
But we are not the egregious they seek
All they are the ones unperturbed
By their forfeited ethical standing
Soldiers that never atoned
For their precarious standing
In the voluptuous kingdom come
Yet we are indefatigable
Yet we will not forget

Masquerade

Words hidden behind hands
Whispers of me
Of who I am
Who I want to be
Who I will be
But
I can see
Past those jealous eyes
Twinkling with
Jealousy
Please just go away
Those souls
Hidden by their mask
Mask of
Who I want to be
Who I will be
My masquerade
Which swirls with hidden intent
The ghosts of me
Are haunting
Wanting to rip the mask off our face
The ghosts
Of who I am
Of who I could have been
Of who I will be
My mask
Bejeweled
With humor
With popularity
With smiles
Smokes from the lies
The lies that shackle me to them
The majority
The minority
The mask
My mask
Their mask
Please just go away
Fold by Fold of the Mask
Shows her
Shows him
Where am I?
I wear the mask
Their mask
