Julia Thomas-Ficken Poem
Condescending Mastermind
Your path is certain,
Always a narrow line.
Your words you fill with sweet designs;
Relinquish scattered emotions to the flame of the hearts,
Now eroded with time.
Why such a deliberate sorrow?
To a love so fine?
A Love that was meant to withstand all time.
Now though true souls are unveiled,
They are still left in confines.
Urgently longing a significant sign,
To erase these illusions and forever define,
The Passion between them that keeps them entwined.
Hold-fast on to purities,
On which deceit dines.
The option will truly
Send chills down your spine.

Julia Thomas-Ficken Poem
Can you see what is not there?
Do you often stop to listen?
Always take that time,
Don't rely upon the system.
May you look to keep you wondering,
May you seek and also find.
May you be given so you learn how to take.
So that you also have peace of mind.

Julia Thomas-Ficken Poem
The Great IAM
After He hangs each star each night,
He allows the moon to come out & play.
Concise & just as constant,
He sends the sun to start each day.
Faithful, patient & forgiving,
He waits for us to say,
That we need His Grace, His mercy.
That we want Him to show us His way.
In our joy or in our sorrow,
Today, tomorrow come what may,
God He is, was & always will be.
His love for us won't fade away.

Julia Thomas-Ficken Poem
Never once a thank you.
Not one time was I told; I've done good.
Did I ever get a compliment?
Or compensation like I should.
At no time have u even,
Stopped to tell me it'll be ok.
You've yet to hold me while I cry;
And wipe my tears away.
Love doesn't last forever.
If neither fans passion's flames.
The fire burns out quietly.
Leaving only the ashes that remain.
What I did, I did for love.
I had no expectations.
Just a pat on my back would've healed it all,
Instead, I got condemnation.

Julia Thomas-Ficken Poem
Now what do I do with this love of mine?
It seems to have lost it's sparkle and shine.
I hope and keep praying, that he'll show me a sign,
That shows that he feels I've now paid for my crimes.
But here I sit waiting...wasting more than just time.
Playing house and pretending that everything's fine.
Until reality barges in, as I write line after line,
And I see my poem come together...
It's my life that won't rhyme.

Julia Thomas-Ficken Poem
My hobby incorporates fantasies!
To my otherwise ordinary day.
I knead more validation,
That's why I sit down to clay.
The various techniques over stimulate me,
All the colors mesmerize.
The hardest part is choosing
What it is I want to visualize.
Just a lump of clay you say?
Well, I surely disagree.
I you open up your mind's eye;
There's so much more to see!

Julia Thomas-Ficken Poem
I risked it.
You raided it
That time, was on me.
I locked it.
You attacked it.
But it’s I who holds the key.
There’s someone else that wants it more;
I see that now so clearly.
No more placing second,
Because that someone else is me.
