Matthew Robinson Poem
This Poem is from the point of view of a loving wife living with alzheimers. A passionate and pure soul, lost in unfamiliar surroundings during the loneliest time of her life.
A Stranger in Love
My memories are beyond my grasp.
I cannot reach what is out so far.
The pain I feel in my lonely Soul
Will not heal and will not leave a scar.
I shout at you, kick you and call you names.
My frustration makes me attack
and although you leave me for a short lonely time
for some reason you always come back.
You must think I'm so cold and heartless,
While I sit here watching you cry.
You feel sad that I don't remember you,
yet all I wonder is why
Who is this person? I keep asking myself,
so kind and friendly and sweet.
You fluff my pillows and wash my hair
but I love when you massage my feet.
I am confused by the way you look in my eyes.
Like a stranger in love at first sight
I can't understand why you're here all the time.
Why you stay here all day and all night
Some things you've said are familiar
like the day we saw our daughter crawl,
or the ring you placed on my finger,
or that kiss in the water fall.
It is strange that I feel I can trust you.
How I enjoy you holding my hand,
yet I pull away, angry and scared
as these feelings I don't understand.
Why do I like this strangers' arms,
wrapped around me and keeping me warm?
I feel like I'm where I'm supposed to be,
like my soul is somehow reborn.
The sound of your beating heart in my ear
makes me smile while you cradle my palm.
I suddenly feel safe and smothered with love
and it's strange how you make me feel calm
Why do I feel like I'm falling in love,
with this stranger I do not know?
Who is this Angel sent from the heavens?
Who I hope will never go.
All of a sudden you sing me a song,
that reminds me of who you are.
In a flash I am flooded with memories of joy.
You're my best friend, my lover, my star.
As I fall to sleep with a smile on my face
I gently call your name.
This Angel is not a stranger at all
and I'm in love all over again.
I'm surrounded by love as I fall to sleep
in the arms of my one true love
My dreams are full of happiness and joy
and I'm thanking the heavens above.
I wake in the morning feeling fresh and restored
as I open my eyes up wide
I search for a memory as I'm lonely and lost
with a stranger sat by my side.

Matthew Robinson Poem
Hello my gorgeous baby
My beautiful wonderful Angel.
I love you with all of my heart
and I'm sorry if this message is painful.
there are some things I would like to say,
things I would say if we were together,
things that parents say to their babies
that stay in their hearts forever.
Unfortunately you don't really know me
you've seen pictures of me where I've been,
see I was taken to heaven when you were a baby
from events that were unforeseen.
I am so so sorry that I
must say this final goodbye
but I'm certain I know the reason,
I'm certain I know the why.
I always played silly games,
mummy said I belong in the circus
but we each have a reason to be here
and I believe that you were my purpose.
I want you to know I lived a wonderful life
in the time I've spent here on earth
but the greatest thing I ever did
was witness the day of your birth.
I held you so close in my arms,
my tummy filled with butterflies.
I could not help but cry tears of joy
as you gazed deep into my eyes.
Its cruel that I can't be with you.
It's not fair that I had to go.
If I could ask the heavens for anything,
I would ask to see you grow.
Try not to be scared of the dark,
be brave, I know you will try to.
If you get frightened just close your eyes,
I will be sat there right beside you.
It breaks my heart to know
that I will never see
your little eyes light up at Christmas
when you open a present from me.
There are so many days of the year
where you will have so much fun.
There's Easter, Halloween, Fire work night,
there are so many things to be done.
On your journey to becoming adult
boys will come and go
but when you discover true love,
I'm certain that you will know.
I wish I could be there with you,
to walk you down the isle.
To wipe away my tears of joy
at the sight of your beautiful smile.
Your life will be long and happy
and be forever surrounded by love.
I will always be smiling down at you
from up in the heavens above.
Do not rush to come and see me.
There is no early or is no late.
It doesn't matter how long it takes.
In heaven I will wait.
In many years from now
I'm certain I'll see you again.
Its not a question of why or where,
It's just a question of when.
I love you so much my Princess
Is all I have left to say
I will always love you for ever and ever
I love you more and more each day.

Matthew Robinson Poem
I am a dog with a loving heart
And just like you I burp and I fart
When my family and I go for walkies together
Simply throw me a ball and I'm more happy then ever
I would never judge you for acting like fools
and I learn really fast with a few simple rules
I am a dog with sharp teeth and claws
Which I use to protect my children and yours
So if danger threatens my family in doors
I will fight at their side standing strong on all fours
The fight may leave me with bruises and sores
But your love hugs and kisses are worth more than my paws
When your babies are sleeping I'll guard them all night
So go to sleep mum an dad it will all be alright
If someone breaks in just try and keep calm
I'll do whatever it takes to keep you from harm
If I hurt someone doing what I must do
They may put me to sleep but it's worth it for you
If this is to happen you're not to blame
You loved me and cared for me so carry no shame
You must all be strong as there will be no pain
And rest assured I will see you again
So with my family all round me just cradle my paw
And I'm happy that you're the last people I saw.
