your mind, your battleground
heart racing furiously
beating,
living,
strong.
i know it aches,
i know you struggle to bear the weight,
but darling, keep fighting,
i’m by your side.
hold your head higher,
chest out, shoulders back,
show them what you’re made of;
because you’re diamonds, brilliant and sharp,
you’re fire, warm and protecting.
you’re alive,
and that’s worth it.
you are so so worth it.

if I could spend a day,
or a week, or a year
alone
with you,
that would never be enough.
i want to hold you and never let go
i want to run my hands through your hair
i want to show you how you’re beautiful.
how your smiles dance and burn in my mind
how your hands fit so well between mine
how your heart beats so boldly
and I never want to stop hearing it.

as they cannot understand how

i want to protect you,
i want to prove how I love you,
