Another Year

Another year is ending
Making way for one anew
What we've observed will shape us
To create a better view

Another year is ending
Let the new be not the same
For a better place is not far from possible
If we all could change our way

Another year is ending
May we embrace the new with hope
Though it may seem bleak and futile at times
Together, with love we can cope

Another year is ending
And I truly wish you all the best
May your year be full of love and understanding
So that your mind may be at rest

Happy holidays and a great new year.

Darkness

The darkness shrouds me
It's loving embrace
Holds me in place
Here, I feel free

It comes to surround me
An emotionless state
Here, I create
Balance eternity

Darkness brings liberty
Dries tears from face
A pitstop in the race
Displaces or maintains sanity

Dispose of tragedy
To quickly replace
Clean slate, erased
Darkness sets me free

Same

One by one
I am killing my emotions
To save myself
Keeping hold of my devotions
Liberate myself
Of disappointing expectations
Reminding myself
Of self preservation

Cause the game it doesn't change
It's always more of the same
It will chew you up and spit you out
Until routinely you're insane
For balance is happiness
Balance is pain
Wrapped up for years
In consolidated chains
And it's always just the same

Two by two
They march on ever forward
Together to the end
At least until divorce court
I am finding it all disturbing
This constant state of discord
This misery and pain
Is troubling to the core

Cause the game it doesn't change
It's always more of the same
It will chew you up and spit you out
Until routinely you're insane
For balance is happiness
Balance is pain
Wrapped up for years
In consolidated chains
And it's always just the same

Frame by frame
The images keep repeating
Don't change that dial
Please remain in numbered seating
It keeps you satisfied
While on your blood they have been feeding
Sold yourself to fear
For you feel your time is fleeting

So the game needs to change
We cannot allow it to be the same
We must find the strength within
To choose life over wealth and fame
For balance isn't happiness
And balance isn't pain
It's the natural disaster
It's the drought ending rain
Lest it all be just the same

Rhyme of Reason

It's a turning point in time
A history that tells of lies and crimes
One percent shepherd and 99 blind
Led to the slaughter in a single file line

Be it less or more the same
We must shed our skins, forget the blame
See ourselves with love not shame
To ease our hearts of this endless pain

Be this a view of the past
We've come a long way but we're moving too fast
We keep pushing the threshold, how long can it last?
Further and further toward it's collapse

But now comes a chance for change
Resist the division lest we all be estranged
Unity is never too far out of range
We can throw in the towel or make the exchange

Observed Realities

I look around and what I see
A world built on war not peace
Conform, comply or be deceased
We will not fight, morale decreased

This is what I have come to observe
The commodity you choose is the god you serve
The power it possesses is beyond all words
A competitive game defining our worth

No argument I hear can ever justify
We watch people suffer, we watch them die
Victims of simply believing a lie
Those ignored, to whom we don't provide

Living in complete ignorant bliss
The majority of you will bypass this
Blinded by the sweet materialistic kiss
Can't be bothered by that which you've missed

Tales From My Blazing Heart

All that I have been trying to say
Is that the reason you're so depressed
Is the same reason I'm so angry
And in this constant state of unrest

Believe it or not, I was just like you
I was down trodden, sad and stressed
Didn't want to believe that this life I was living
Was designed to be a competitive test

It was acknowledgment of the facts before me
That lay before my eyes
The majority of us are no more than slaves
Used, belittled and victimized

My sorrows turned to anger
Turned to fire in my heart
There's no time to wallow in misery
It's time we pick a start

For this madness cannot be allowed to continue
To keep us enchained and imprisoned
We must search for a better way of life
Together, create a new vision

Let Me Out

I sit here alone
Expressionless face
Nobody home
Let me out of this place

I've been here too long
No spark in my soul
My heart sings no song
Let me out of this hole

Sink down deeper
I'm losing all hope
My motivations weaker
Let me out of this mote

With no hope left
I dispose of my thoughts
Rip heart from chest
Let me out of this box

I've screamed and I've pleaded until nothing's left
"Let me out of this hell" whispered through my last breath

I Love You

I love you
These three words we share
In the past have meant nothing
But loss and despair
They've been spoken so many times
It's routine
To believe there's an inevitable
End to this dream

But I do love you
And it's happened so fast
In all of my experiences
This never lasts
For you, and you know this
Have an open door to leave
And maybe once more
I'm the fool wearing heart on sleeve

I am trusting you fully
So please always be true
Tell me your feelings
So that I may have some clue
As to where we are headed
I'm on board to the end
I love you my darling

Love always,
Your best friend

In It

I'm in it now
What you may ask?
I'm in a world of hurt
In a world of masks
Question their motives
Answers so bleak
Must stay strong willed
Cannot be weak

I'm in it now
A dedicated place
One more smile
To be ripped from my face
Words that are spoken
Every syllable heard
But actions speak louder
Of things less deserved

I'm in it now
I've asked for this madness
Within unknown territory
I'm finding more sadness
Confusion and wonder
Wander round my head
I'm walking blind
Am I alive or dead?

I'm in it now
I don't know what to do
It tears me apart
I feel so confused
I'm in it now
I will always be last
A fool to believe
The future could be unlike the past
