“Hope is Self Betrayal”
 
                       Why have I done this again
            No longer can I quiet my rage
The sorrow I’ve caused with my pen
Is immortalized there on that page
                        I told you I was scared of this day
I told you I should have gone away
I told you it would hurt me to stay
      But my words have simply passed through
            And now there is nothing to do
                        I can’t just pretend it’s untrue
Now, ‘tis but a matter of when
            And whether you forget this with age
      Will you believe I did not mean to say
            That I am in love with you
