Hazel Beirne Poem
Death isn’t the end
It can’t be
It’s not that I feel you here
I wish that I could so badly
I look for signs that you’re near
Death isn’t the end
It can’t be
You’re on my mind constantly
I hear your voice
Your laugh
Your screech
I imagine exactly how you’d be
Death isn’t the end
It can’t be
You had so much more left to give
To a world too messed up to nurture you
You endured so much pain since a kid
Death isn’t the end
It can’t be
I wish I’d done so much more
Instead of flying home to your coffin side
I wish I’d have knocked on your door
Death isn’t the end
It can’t be,
I wish you’d talked to me
I wish I’d written you a letter
Instead of writing your eulogy
Death isn’t the end
It can’t be
I think of you every day
Your talent, your humour
Your sayings, your kindness
Your infectious laugh
Your smile was the brightest
Our guardian angel up above
Death isn’t the end
It can’t be
Forever is our love

Hazel Beirne Poem
We speak of the world as though it is one,
A singular place in which we live among,
And so we are taught and lead to believe,
There is only one world of which to percieve,
But upon exploration I think that you'll find,
The meaning of 'world' as it is defined,
Is not just a place known as the earth,
But an experience of living based on self worth,
For every living creature and all of mankind,
Live in their own world inside their mind,
And the world's seven wonders,
In all of their glory,
Can't begin to heal a mind,
Of sadness and fury,
For happiness lies in the place we reside,
Our very own world known as our mind,
So be kind to yourself and your neighbour too,
For he lives in a very different world than you

Hazel Beirne Poem
Here marks the age
Of evolution in reverse
Though finally escaping
The clutches of the church
The craze of social media
Has us on our knees
With the touch of a thumb
We’ve acquired all our needs
We need not for hunting
Exploring or chasing
We swipe and we like
For instant gratification
Needles mask our wrinkles
Pills hide our pain
Botox and fillers
Soon we’ll all look the same
Human connection
Replaced with technology
Materialistically rich
Spiritually in poverty

Hazel Beirne Poem
A heart too gentle
A mind too deep
A beautiful soul
Forever asleep
Eyes full of sparkle
A heart full of love
Now shining brightly
From heaven above
Always too beautiful
for a world so mediocre
Your peace brings us comfort
But without you
We’re broken
