Gender Equality

An old man stepped into the light to educate us and said,
A woman should be tamed,
A woman should be locked in a cupboard for safe keeping,
A woman should fold her dreams into the hands
of a man that preach love,
She should live in the pit of a man's heart
and stay buried deep within his soul.
Oh! Listen to their voice break the peace of water as men pour fire
inside their heart
and bend them into what lives after pain.

Then I opened my mouth to breath words like fire....
You said a woman should wait for a man
that will steal her voice and give her silence?
But I know of women whose voice break
the night into fragment of stars,
I know of women made of bones,
Who fight for space in the soil with their fingers.
Look at their hands raised in thunder!
See how they scatter darkness with the fire in their eyes,
See how they get up after a night of grief and despair and do what
need to be done to feed their children.

As my voice filled his ears, his eyes mirrored his anxiety,
His hands press together in worry , his face separate them in
shame.
Then I greet his silence like an old friend and said
"What a man can do, a woman can do better" if given a chance
Let there be equality for all.

We Are the Light of the World

Darkness isn't born,
It is created by snuffing out the light,
Sorrow does not exist,
Except in the absence of happiness.

Dark people with dark intentions,
Appearing as a sheep but with the heart of a wolf,
Evil things lurking in the shadows,
Lying in wait to devour the sons of GOD.

But just as the light illuminates and vanishes a shadow,
so also when we gather every knee shall bow,
For love, Hope and Faith is our symbol of strength,
No weapon fashioned against us shall prosper.
BECAUSE,

WE ARE THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD

I Wander the Desert Alone

In search for riches, in search for fame,
In search for glory, to wipe out my shame,
In search for a sit in the hall of fame,
To eliminate the suffering standing on my name.

In search for silver, in search for gold,
In search for diamond that makes a man bold,
In search for wisdom and truth untold,
To conquer the lies and stories of old.

I walked the desert not leaving behind an ink,
And in the oasis, grasses begged for a drink,
The face of the sun frowned at the sands,
Bruising my flesh, burning my hands.

I took my courage and left my phone,
I thirst for adventure and left my zone,
Barren to patience, pregnant for lust,
I wander the desert alone not minding the cost.

I Am a Winner

Even if disappointment bruise my bone,
Even if I break like an egg that dares the stone,
Even if failure calls my name with a loud tone,
I will not answer because I am a winner.

Even if defeat sting my face,
Even if I get tired during the chase,
Even if I fall exhausted, about to win the race,
I will get up because I am a winner.

Even though uncertainty covers me like a dark blanket,
I will shoot my arrow aiming at the target,
I may not be 100%, I may not be perfect,
But I am a winner. I AM BORN TO WIN

Sweet Mother

A lot of mothers clothe their children with silver and gold,
So that the shine like the orange sun rays,
And glow like the silver of the full moon,
Their own way of caring for a child.
     SWEET MOTHER

BUT YOU ARE SPECIAL!!!!

Like a candle in the dark,
You brought me out of the night that covered me,
Feeding me with truth and righteousness,
Protecting me from the wrath of ignorance.
      SWEET MOTHER

Soft words are your currency of conversation.
With the wisdom in your voice,
Sadness gave way to happiness, love and light,
Taking away the feelings of grief and envy,
That poisoned my soul for many years.
     SWEET MOTHER

You are the beauty behind my scars,
You are my bright light in an ocean of darkness,
You are and forever will be my "SWEET MOTHER"

I LOVE YOU

Good Morning

With the night comes fear and darkness,
forcing us to surrender our visions and ambition.
Expecting the light we blind ourselves,
As we close our eyes in fear of the dark.

In the absence of light, darkness prevails,
and it rules the earth with torment and hardship.
Evil things creeping on the surface of the earth,
in the face of which we are nothing.

But as the rising sun claims dawn,
it brings with it promise and fulfilment,
flowers opening to great the morning,
the sun stretching its golden arms to bless the day.

GOOD MORNING...Light has conquered darkness

In the presence of light we become motivated,
our visions become illuminated again.
Though sorrow and pain may strife through the night,
joy and happiness comes with the morning.

GOOD MORNING...Light has conquered darkness

A Kingdom On Fire

The sun is here again, bringing light to silent bodies in darkness,
Oh! My country has turned into a mortuary.
Children now walk with shadows for company,
A woman in a cupboard is calling the name of her dead child,
and I am just another voice wandering round and round empty streets.
Jesus Christ! a man with the mask of Satan
is shooting men from his dream,
I ran so fast even his bullet couldn't catch up with me,
I am tired, weary, hungry and thirsty now,
A little house in my stomach is on fire and there is no river nearby.
Do you know that before day break, gun will ring its alarm
to remind the living its time to die?
I guess my loved ones woke up to the sound of its venom in their veins.
My world is tearing apart, I need to put an end to this misery.
Then, I heard a voice bleed from the radio offering salvation,
I put a gun in my mouth and swallowed the bullets,
because I prefer to die a free man than to live in chains forever.

Remembering What I Want To Forget

In the middle of the storm I found peace,
Love brightened the day with a soft kiss,
Her beauty disturbed my brain like a tough quiz,
Love was the mr , romance was his miss.

Suddenly, shadows defeated the reigning dawn,
Fight and quarrel argued with the existing fun,
Thunder cracking, encouraging the darkness to come,
I strife so hard but the love was long gone.

Flashes of the moment I tried to neglect,
But they kept coming, bringing along regret,
Ashes of the moment like a burning cigarette,
I remember vividly though I want to forget.

I Am Not Defined By Circumstances

I have fought for space in the soil with my fingers
and felt failure biting into my flesh and blood
and twining into my bones.
To survive l had to tear myself from the world
and shut my body in broken houses.
I have lived in rooms that folds their hands over my eyes
as darkness danced to the tune of my suffering.
I am lost in a forest that holds only voice, I walk,
in search of a voice to bring me home.
Down this path some flowers in my heart are
painted brown by the dust of life,
I can barely see cos darkness planted himself
in front of me.
But I refuse to be a captive of my environment,
So I stood up to face my fears and said the words
that made darkness run from light
"I Am Not A Product Of My Circumstance,
I Am A Product Of My Choice"

Darkness

Darkness is a being
that folds its hand over our eyes
and steal our vision from us.
It is a dark blanket
that spreads over the earth,
A disease that turns men into shadows.
