Reflection In the Mirror

I look in the mirror and what do I see?
Is the reflection I observe really coming from me?
My eyes are sunk in and my body looks frail,
I see this reflection and my heart wants to wail.

I sometimes wonder why God put me here,
I search and I ponder, but His will is unclear.
“Life is hard, but God is good,” a friend said to me,
But this little phrase doesn’t set my mind free.

Pains in my heart no one can restore,
The only solution is to open the door,
To let Christ in my heart and do His work,
To rid my soul of the demons that lurk.

I look in the mirror and what do I see?
Is the reflection I observe really coming from me?
My eyes are shining and my body looks strong,
This is the me I have been wanting for so long.

Family

Another year has come and gone,
As so many have before.
A year of tears and sadness,
A year of smiles, joy, and more.

But now on this Christmas day,
As we all are gathered here,
All sorrows are forgotten,
And we forget all fear.

There have been many hardships on the way,
But now we come together,
On this blessed, love filled day.

My heart rejoices and my soul is lifted,
Because of the love we all share.
I count my blessings both good and bad,
For a family like this is so rare.

I love you all and forever we’ll be,
A family so loving, a family so free.
A family together, kind and so strong,
A family connected by a very special bond.

Destiny

When you wake in the morning, you’re fulfilling your destiny.
Every decision, every turn in the road leads us on.
Your destiny may be predetermined, but surprises can happen.
Live each day to your fullest, make your own choices.
Never let anyone choose for you.
You in turn determine your destiny by your life.
I’d rather live a life full of surprises and choices.
Because living a well mapped out straightforward life, isn’t really living.
So if you believe that your destiny is already chosen,
Laid out nice and neat,
Then go; lead a life full of no surprises,
As for me, well each day is my playground!

Not Enough Time

The bible says in Revelation,
That the world will end in a bang.
It says that we must be ready,
For the day will come unannounced.
I look at the things I’ve done in my life,
With a smile turned to a frown.
What if the day comes now?
I’m not ready, not yet.
There are some things I need to change,
I’m afraid that there is…
…NOT ENOUGH TIME

What if I don’t get a chance?
A chance to change the things I want.
The day will come and I won’t be ready,
I’m scared of what could happen,
If the end would happen now.
Will God look at my life and smile,
Or will He look with sadness?
My goal is to live a holy life,
So I guess I need to change.
I’m afraid that there is…
…NOT ENOUGH TIME

Today I am going to start over,
To do the things that are right.
I’m going to live a holy life,
Or try to do the best I can.
I’m sorry for the things I’ve done,
That makes me frown on my past.
I want to be confident and smile.
When the end comes with a big bang,
I want to be ready and not worry about…
…NOT ENOUGH TIME

Voice From Above

One night as I lay asleep in bed,
I heard a noise right close to my head.
Afraid to move I stayed real still,
What if something bad was in God’s will?

Tis’ bad to think that I might die,
It doesn’t seem possible, I don’t know why.
I guess you could say that I’m afraid,
But why would God harm something he made?

“Patience you must have” the bible does say,
But it’s hard to do this when life doesn’t go my way.
I pray to God but nothing do I hear,
Doesn’t He see all the things that I fear?

One night as I lay asleep in bed,
I heard a noise right close to my head.
“I heard you my child, no do not be dismayed,
By the blood of my Son, you have been saved!”

Journey

Within all of us is a wild adventure.
Deep inside our hearts is a journey,
Waiting to be found, to be followed.
A journey to the truth, listen and you’ll see.
The truth is there, what you really need.
Search for your destiny, for your love,
For a new life that awaits you.
Life is what you make it, yet is it also what you don’t.
True not all things are fair, but keep looking.
Someday, somewhere, the journey will be found.
Until then, the search continues on.
The heart is left wondering, hoping, anticipating!

Carpe Diem

Every breath I take is a renewal of life,
It is a chance to excel, change, and begin new.
Truly it is up to me to seize the day.
This is my time, my time to shine.
New beginnings come every day,
And it is up to us to seize them,
To make them our own.
Now is my time to do with what I will,
And it is just this, a moment that is mine.
No more will I sit idly by, Carpe Diem!
This day, this moment, this breath.
Every breath I take is a second chance,
And it is my intention to seize it!
