India-The Land of Festivals

India is a land full of festivities,
Lots of relaxation to the Indians surely it gives-
Most of these are ceremony leaves -
Some are due to great men's deeds.

All direction does it cheer-East,West,North,South,
It fills with sweets every big and small mouth,
The year begins with the New Year,
Every 'life' remains busy sending cards to nears and dears.

The 26th January follows-the day of our constitution,
The Gandhi Jayanti makes us realise the power of his non-violence vision.
The Saraswati Puja Specially for the students,
During which they pray for the result in the forthcoming examinations.

15th August is the day of glory,
The Indians on the graves of sacrifice respect garlands of flory.
5th September is celebrated as the Teachers's day,
This is the day when wisdom feels proud and gay.

The Ganesh Chaturthi,The Durga puja comes with the chill in the Autumn sky,

Joy seems unlimited ,time seems to fly;
Like the enjoyment a child gets on seeing a muticoloured butterfly;
Near and dear ones return home in flights-
When the sky is rent with dazzling 'Diwali Lights'.

Soon after a month-the festival X-mas fills us with lot of fun,
It comes when the weather cools the hot sun.

These are some and there's many others-
Which make our mind light as a feather.
The written festivals are some of the noted-
But there are so many that they can't be jotted.

A Child's Mind

What that removes the dark?
What's that lightens the world?
What's that red round?
Which on the early east is only found?

Why it's so cold?
When the weather is moulded by hazy fog.
And why is it so hot?
When big ponds dry to small dots.

Why the koel sings?
Whence the winter turns mild and is slowly overpowered by spring.
And why is it so humid?
When the rain starts pouring and flowing.

What are thet shine at night?
Most of which without might;
Yet one amongst them shines with full lusture
But it too sometimes vanishes from the unending infrastructure.

Why green is the grass?
Why is the coal black?
Why blue is the sky?
In which the birds fly.

Why fishes live in water?
And why some animals live in woods?
Why birds with wings fly?
Why do the dogs look for food?

How simple is a child's mind!
As we grow we fail it to find-
Some questions asked by a child are these-
Why does'nt our mind remain as simple as this?

The Village Banyan Tree

Stotutly among the rest of the trees, standing high-
Its height touches the sky in which the kites fly,
Guarding the village like a gallant knight,
Its bark shows the black wounds of many fights.

Its creepers like a dozen of pythons,
Could be seen from far away lawns-
All trying to hold it captive-
But for them its size is too massive.

It has seen so many years;
It has viewed so many deaths of nears and dears;
The signs of sorrow reflect on its face crystal clear;
How so much sorrow doth it bear?
And how doth it resist its sorrowful tears?

Somuch old and yet so young-
Its nostalgic night-song
Is a bridge to my childhood days that have passed long.

A True Friend

One day a lucky star dropped on the earth,
And asked me what do you want?
Atrue friend or a million dollars,
Or either of the none?

I said a million dollars would I take,
For a nice future for me to make,
As I already have you-
Who forever did my happiness sew.

He is one of my friends I am lucky to get-
To lend his helping hand he is never too late;
He is the one I can never hate-
He is my buddy since my childhood days.

I wish I have you for the rest of the life;
Let our friendship go more ripe;
When we rest in peace let's do together--
And wish we be like this ,times and after.

Its for sure
He will shine
As the best
Amongst the nine!!!

An Innocent Dream

Last night I saw a dream-
I was in the midst of a brown gleam;
The spot was like a land of cream;
Lakes and ponds were full with it -upto the brim.

Beautiful blossoms were everywhere,
The fragrance were for everyone to share ,
The snow flakes seemed most fair,
It seemed that Nature has created them with great care.

Chocolate creams made up the seesaw,
There was cno one to guide me under law,
There was no signs of fears and flaws,
And there was a cream cat with snow white claws.

What a dream it was just like the beauty of a rose-
But all were shattered when the light of dawn fell on the tip of my nose.

The Last Journey

The wheels ran on the tracks of rail-
Through the window the air gushed as a strong gale-
Upon the two serpents rushed and dashed the mail-
Carrying many a reflection, which upon it hath set the sail.

Sometimes it went intrepid through mysterious tunnels,
Sometimes it thundererd over wide canals ,
Sometimes the journey resembled repose-
When it over the plains tip-toed.

Inside the mail beside an open door -
Sat a lass on the uncombed floor;
Dressed as she was most slovenly ,
Left was she in such a fate by all and sundry.

Suddenly a voice of her rang through the air,
Towards a person who was a tea vendor,
Give me some tea -she tried to speak aloud -
Offering a coin of twenty five paise again did she shout.

The venndor passrd unheared,
His phony maners pricked my heart;
She sat and seemed to muse -
That she offered money and still was refused.

The motley of passengers,to help her--
All at heart were willing;
But it could be below thier dignity,
Of what were they fearing.

Then a person rose and like a foreman,
He did lend his helping hand;
Some read for her did he buy-
But when he want to her,to this nice guy,
And to this nasty world she haealready bade her last bye.

The mail seemed to run faster,
To carry the pure soul to her home's corner;
But, where will it find her destination?
When with her carrier only she had her home's relation.

Outside in the sea of darkness,many a dazzle blinked -
But for this poor lass the light of life forever did shrink,
Did this mean to a new light was she exposed?
And,did to hersoul the mysterious eternal dark disclose?

Stop Fighting -Start Living

The earthly worldly beauty creation-
All started with a blunt explosion;
Came from the 'Heaven' the life sustaining precipitation,
God made the earth with a peaceful notion .

But the dream is flouted by present 'Times'-
The devastating weapons are being made by 'nines'-
Like a sweelling river during flood, are incresing today's crimes-
All these are a great threat to the worldly fines.

Peace is the need of the hour,
Disturbances are filling the bower-
Crimes are rising like unseen towers,
Oh! God protect us with your blessing's shower.

USA, Russia, Iraq, Afganistan,
India, China, Iran and Pakistan,
All are busy fighting with guns,
Millions are losing their near and dear one's;
And it would soon blacken the golden gleam of the sun.

Stop the fight ! Stop the fight!
Nations stop showing youer individual might;
Do not let the bird of peace out of sight;
Dawn upon mind the peaceful light;
Come down from the rivalry height'
Stop the fight ! Stop the fight!

My Western Friend

Far from the west came a man,
And me in the Indian Sands',
Making a friendship tight -
It was freddy who met me in the night.

The month of October, the weeks of November,
The bond flew more slender -
Thou left in the month of January;
Thy memories make me sorry!

Oh thy gossips cheered me all;
Like the beauty of an ever lasting waterfall,
Thy music rings in my ears
Resulting in hot brimming tears .
your memory is as fresh in my mind -
Giving me hope to remember thine!!

Nature

The beauty of the early dawn,
Make all feel active as sportive fawns;
The dew drops shine in the lawn-
But as the Sun grows its beauty is gone.

The heat of Summer, the chill of Winter-
The rains mekes the river flow faster;
During Autumn the sky is clear;
But the spring's beauty is even nicer.

The freshness of rose,the majesty of mountains-
The shallowness of lakes and the depth of oceans-
And the mute beauty of insane flowery lanes,
Enthall even the greatest men.

The breeze of the quite trees;
Fills us with comfort sweeping our minds free;
The movements of the clouds show us kingly gaits,
Making us realise we are not what makes our fates.

The scene of a snow covered peak,
And the strength of the woods of teak,
The white colour of snow flakes ,
Prettier the world thus it makes.

Oh! Nature's beauty, Nature's power,
To it humans are meek creatures;
Continuously does its blessing's shower;
Let's vow to make it nice , lovely and gayer.

The Portrait of the Deer

Standing amidst the green pastures,
The body of silken lusture,
Away from the worldly 'features',
What a wonder has created nature.

Freedom fill thee all
Peace covers thou like a shawl,
Thy - eyes represent harmony,
Thy energy so much fawny.

Are you standing here from the very dawn,
Surrounded by the dewy lawn,
The top of head the twelve 'thorns' -
Symbol of protection from all foes till they are fully gown.

The time seems dreadful night,
When creatures' heart fill with fright,
But your gaze cheers every sight,
Showing all the divine power of 'Light'
