Patrick Mullen Poem
Disturbia
Disturbing my emotions, im the clandestine enigma,
boiling clouds of thunder, im tarred with all this stigma.
Sadistic moulded features, the lonliness of face,
like a rat within the cause, no winners of this race.
Your eyes they tell a story, they dig beneath the surface,
you try to hide the guilt but know you serve no purpose.
The crust of all thats dead, it smears across the lines,
for i am but a mortal, with ties i cannot bind.

Patrick Mullen Poem
The last journey.
The clouds are darkened grey, the light it starts to fade,it whispers in my ears, its time to go away. For years I've fought this battle, I've kept the fight at bay, but now my mind is weakened, this beast has had its day.
I've tried to conquer demons, keep the wild from running free, but now I see this demon, as its staring back at me.
My tears they go unnoticed, my cries for help are mimed, for now I face the empty, my solace to hard to find.
So I bow my head defeated, I close my eyes to feel, this rope is getting tighter, in my mind it's so unreal. It's time to ride the ferry, one way is all I need, three silvers not of gold, is the price that is agreed.
So I take this final journey, remember all my sins, this feeling of this shame, as they ferry man he grins. His boney hands transparent, his face is free of skin, as he takes his payment silent, for he knows I cannot win.
No more this war continues, I've fallen far from grace, my feelings are all empty, as I've lost this final race. For now my time is over, no more I have to give, I've tried so hard to conquer, this life I had to live.

Patrick Mullen Poem
Gone.
Forever in my dreams, your gone from this here place,
I long to see your smile, I remember your smiling face.
The cancer it had stricken, brought you to your knees,
my God why have you forsaken, with such a terrible disease.
You lay beside me motionless, your skin as pale as snow,
you murmur in all this pain, for soon its time to go.
Your a shadow of what you were, your heart beats silent still,
you've given up the fight, and you've used up all your will.
Now your time has come, to face what lies in wait,
embrace the calm beyond thee, accept this willing fate.
No more in pain your body, no more disease will win,
remembered for what you were, and all that you have been.

Patrick Mullen Poem
SPIRITS.
The coldness of the night, my breath in clouds of vapour,
I'm falling to my knees, and call to my own saviour.
Hiding in the shadows, as light, it flits on by,
Striking up emotions, in the blink of saddened eyes.
The shivers down my spine, the hairs they stand on end,
And from the sky above, to earth from heaven ascend,
The voices in the distance, spark memories of long before,
As I whispered out your name, to see you again once more.
You came to me in dreamland, your presence all too real,
The touch of your soft hand, on the back of face I feel.
Tears run down my cheek as you turn and walk away,
I'm calling out your name, as I'm begging you to stay.
You turn and give a smile, the gleam in eyes to see,
As you fade into the distance, you say remember me,
For you were but my love, you had it from the start,
One day we’ll be together, forever, heart to heart.
